They were excellent, we were grateful, they're pleasant and easy to work with.

From the very beginning, White Sands Pools demonstrated poor communications. They started the job without any notice. Because we were not able to pay for the pool, it remained drained for almost four months. Onsite work was sloppy - overspray onto new travertine deck and lanai posts, framing left in yard, chucks of concrete scattered on side yard. The job has now been completed and we are happy with the new surface and tile. However, a jet line is clogged. This jet operated properly before the new skimmer went in. The situation was called in to the project manager and a ticket created with the office manager in early December. At this point, someone was supposed to have inspected it (12/19/19), but it is still clogged and my phone calls have not been returned to discuss the matter.

I wouldn't recommend this company to my friends. The tile installer screwed up the tile and didn't show up for two appointments to fix it. They fired him and sent someone else. Then we found out that the drain for our spa was clogged from debris from the installation. They didn't bother to cover the drains. I told the salesman to include a hand rail in the quote which he never did and now they are asking for additional money to install one. Don't believe their website. The site is from the previous owners that recently retired. It's under new management.

I think the finish looks fine and the pool builder's tile man did a nice job. I don't blame the pool builder company for what happened. The pool builder did tell me that White sands would put down materials to protect my patio deck when they worked. White sands didn't do this. During demolition of the tiles and surface, the nice man who did it, managed to poke a hole in my screen door. That isn't so bad, I can fix that permanently and easily. The pool builder's tile man did a great job, didn't damage anything. But, the plaster crew, I was inside the home and cringed when I heard them slam things all the time on my pool deck. They did permanent damage to my pool deck slamming their materials down multiple times. I am writing this complaint before final payment to my pool builder in 2 days. I had hoped she would have contacted White Sands about this. I am not certain the pool builder did. But, her tile man said I could just paint over the damage to the pool deck. The deck has the track marks from their buckets or whatever they use to plaster the pool from them all slamming them down on the deck. MY deck is damaged, paint won't fix it. Why weren't the crew more careful?? Then, the White sands 2 men who did the acid wash, left a mess on my deck, and some concrete was stuck to the deck, might have been from the pool plaster people of white sands, that I had to clean up. I have to live with this. Since I went through the pool builder, the price was fairly steep. Of course she has to make a profit too. I understand this. The pool builder was attentive to things. But, White Sands did damage my home. Again, I can clean up the concrete and the mess left by the acid wash people and I can pay to repair the 2 screens damaged by the poking of something into the screen, but, the marks on the deck, are permanently and forever in my patio deck in several places, I showed them to the pool builder's tile man, who said just to paint over it. But, they slammed their materials on my deck, paint won't cover up the track marks left on my decking in several places. They put on the bond cote 2 weeks before they put on the plaster, I worried about that since it rained for many days in that 2 weeks. Also, my skimmer's door, we had to take off because it doesn't work right. It did work okay before the pool resurface and retile was done. Again, the pool builder and her tile man didn't do all this damage, but, her subcontractor White Sands did and this review is made BEFORE FINAL PAYMENT to the pool builder. Again, the pool builder has not mentioned anything to me about what White Sands plans on doing, if anything. But, My main complaint is that I was worried about damage to my patio and was told by the pool builder that White Sands would put material down to protect my decking while they worked at my home. Now, I am permanently damaged. The decking. But, I praise my pool builder and her tile man, they are great and did all they could to help me. She didn't buy enough Jet nozzles, but, she can get more. So, if you are afraid of them damaging your property permanently, the plaster crew will for sure.

Absolutely the worst service company I have ever used in my life. The sales person is great, and then it goes straight downhill from there. No communication, completely disorganized, broken promises. I asked several times to speak to the owner and was told by the service managers that " oh, they wont speak to customers" oh really ? the employees complain nonstop about what a mess the company is and that they are " just doing what they are told" They never finished the work and the work they did looks no better then what I had before they came in. I kept telling them they needed to finish the job before I make final payment and instead of even coming out to look at what was wrong they went and filed a construction lien. DO NOT MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE THAT I DID! THERE ARE MANY REPUTABLE COMPANIES OUT THERE TO REFINISH YOUR POOL. THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM.

Kevin (the owner of White Sands) and his crew were spot on from the initial estimate to my beautifully refurbished swimming pool.  I was very pleased.  Every effort was made to do this project carefully protecting my newly refinished patio and furnishings.  They were thorough, did not cut corners, and explained what they were doing in advance and at each step.  Integrity and professionalism were evident from the start.  Their price was very reasonable among the 4 estimates I received.  I would highly recommend White Sands to anyone looking to build a new pool or make your existing pool look amazingly new again.  Just call  them and ask to get an estimate from Kevin.

As you can see from the above list, overall it was a huge mistake hiring this company. I have written a letter to this company describing my dis-satisfaction. Now I'm telling the world.

My only gripe with this company, is that the estimator seemed to want to put every pool renovation in a square box, when maybe we wanted an oval. Our first estimate didn't include the "upgraded" colors, although I had mentioned which three colors we were deciding amongst and all three were upgrades. I also, had to tell the estimator that Pebbletec had created a new color last fall, that he was not aware of (I found the color on Pebbletec's website). After the job, I found that for a little bit more money, we could have had the jets changed from white to black, which would have blended better with the dark surface, but it is too late for that now! I also read on the internet, that tiles could be placed in the pool around the Pebbletec, but that wasn't offered either (I wouldn't have wanted that though). The installers were on time and not too messy (beware if you have a pristine yard) and our pool looks great, despite the white jets.

Cindy the sales rep responded to our request for an estimate quickly. She was very helpful and provided useful information. She was easy to reach during our entire experience which was great. Job took longer than expected and as a customer I had to call the office several times to know when to expect the next team. Office staff was very polite and responsive. While I was told the entire project takes only days...each team works on their own schedule so it took over 3 weeks. I wasn't prepared for that length of time and had I know that in advance I may not have been so apprehensive during the project. Finished product is great.
