"Thank you [Member Name Removed] for all of your business & review of the services Cullen performed on your heat pump. If you ever need our help again, remember we are always a phone call away!"
Great, they were prompt and professional. I had gotten estimates of $5000 - $5500 from 2 other companies.
I have been using this company for approx. 2 years and they are GREAT!!!!!
"We appreciate all of your business and look forward to helping you in the future with all of your HVAC needs! Thank you!"

I will recommend this company to my friends and family!

"We appreciate your business and look forward to helping you in the future with all of your heat pump services. Thank you!"
My experience with Universal Heating and Air was not so great. I called because my Jandy heater was not working and it needed an overhaul with parts. I understood it would cost about $500. The repairman came out and worked for several hours. When he was done, I noticed my digital panel had been replaced with an on/off switch and an old fashioned dial for heat. This was done without telling me. When I asked, he told me, after the fact, it would run from the automated system. I wasn’t thrilled but thought it was probably okay. He continued with the repair. I had also requested they do a pre-emptive service on my home heat pump but he did not want to go there. He looked at a couple of connections and did a test of setting the thermostat to a lower setting. He did no service. The bill was $633 and he would not give me a copy of the receipt I signed. He said the office would email it to me the next day. They did not.
The night of the repair, I wanted to use the spa. The setting was for 102 degrees. After the heater had been running for a while, I put my hand in it. It was so hot I had to pull my hand out. The thermometer said 110 degrees. I called the office and a tech on duty called me back. A pleasant surprise.
The chief technician came out the next day to make it right. My goal was to fix the heater thermostat so it would properly turn off when it hit the set temperature. I said it is about the heater and not about fixing issues with the automated system. They spent several hours and did make improvements which was fine but they did not stop and say to me, I will have to charge you for this work; they just did it. At the end it was fixed as it should have been the day before but they told me it would cost more but couldn’t tell me how much more.
It is the next day and I still don’t have a total bill. I was told they would reduce the bill for the service on the home A/C but the charge to my card is still the $633. Even that was a fight. The office manager insisted I requested additional service for the pool heater and argued with me. They told me last night that they could give me a total this morning. I’m still waiting. When I called today they said they had so many other invoices, I would have to wait until close of business, whenever that is.
What ever happened to the customer is always right? Would I use them again? Only if they improve their customer service procedures. Techs are good but the office staff needs serious work.
"On 07/22/2013, a cost to repair [member name removed]pool heater was given to her. Over 1 year later on 10/03/2014, she called to have the repair made. A revise amount was given to her before the job was scheduled. As we always do, we described in detail that we are proposing to remove the failed digital controller and replace it using a honeywell 10 analog type controller. Many digital controllers do not survive our relative humidity year after year. It is not as pretty, but MUCH MORE RELIABLE. It also requires several internal electrical parts to protect the heat pump properly against certain conditions, which is what we installed in [member name removed] unit. [member name removed] main controller is a Jandy RS Remote Controller. The controller that Universal Heating and Air Conditioning installed is the back up controller to be used if the main controller fails, Which when they fail (and they do) is usually when company is in town. The reason the spa over heated was do to the sensor in the RS remote side (which had nothing to do with the repair made to the pool heater) which we replaced the water sensor the next day in her RS System. The technician who installed the honeywell controller on the first day recommended a full service and clean on the A/C System. He had performed a preventative maintenance on the pool heat pump, which everyone thought she wanted. He proceeded to make notes regarding the A/C System, location, type of T-stat, etc. As far as billing goes, The bill was emailed at approx 2:00 on 10/09/14. As promised. When technicians are on jobs and extra work presents itself and is necessary to complete the quoted work, we always charge the very minimal amount. It is disappointing to receive a review like the [member name removed] review. Every time our phone rings, someone has a problem and we try our very best to make accurate recommendations and follow up with what makes the most sense for each customer for repairs or replacement. We feel our prices are very fair and often do extra performances with no extra charge. We value all our customers and would like to retain [member name removed] if possible. Sincerely, David A Jereczek Owner"
Very professional. Jim made educating me an important part of the process. Unfortunately, there was not much that was cost effective to do at this time, just a few band aids to keep it going a little longer. When the time comes for replacement, I will undoubtedly call on them. I will probably use them for general heating and A/C stuff as I think they are quite experienced and knowledgeable.
Only issue is the cost of the service call. It could have been 20-25% less expensive.
