They did not completely fix the wood on the porch.

Installer showed up and tried to upsell unnecessary repairs before opener could be installed. Quote was roughly $500. Install was cancelled for that day. Another company was ordered to repair door at a cost of $150. Another day later a different installer from sears showed up and claimed repairs were not done correctly. After a dispute about that, the installer became rude and I asked him to leave my property. The company which did the repairs was ordered to install opener at the same cost. Garage door is functional to perfection. Never use Sears again for services.

They were supposed to start in 6 wks.  8 wks later there were still delays.  They said they would be done in a week.  Laughable.  They started just after Thanksgiving and finished in January.  Issues from day one.  The repair/replacement of wood was horrible. They cut off bad pieces and slapped up new pieces.  All in pieces, full sheets were not replaced, just the bad "spots".  God knows what is under the new siding, as I couldn't watch every move.  Almost half of the windows and doors had to be redone as we had a total of 3 sub contractors seperately coming and going, and doing things differently.  Our fake wall out front was to be completely replaced  due to rotting wood.  They tried to just cover it, luckly I was here to stop them.  Then there was the battle, Sears telling me it wasn't included in the price, after I physically took the sales man and his manager out front and made that agreement. There were no secrets.  Everyone knew the wall needed replaced before I signed the papers.  Then, they made it sound like they were doing me a favor when they came back and said, "good news, we took this to the board, and we went to bat for you, and they are going to cover the cost of re-doing the fake wall".  After all that, contractor #2 said he wasn't a carpenter and couldn't do it.  Contractor #3 showed up several days later.  They didn't replace it as agreed, just took out the rotten wood and slapped the siding up yet again.  Totally disgusted with what was done.  Upon completion, from the front - it looks like a new house.  Many complements, but from a quality perspective - I can't believe I paid them $22,000.  I would NEVER recommend them or use them again.  Shoddy, shoddy, shoddy!  To add insult to injury, one of the three hillbilly contractors called to tell me he was putting a lien on my house because he was tired of Sears not paying him.  Sears assured me he cannot, has not and will not, but I don't trust any of them.  In one word... Nightmare.  I just hope it's over.

  Estimator was very professional for this technically challenging installation. Workmen were clean, professional, and came with all required tools and supplies. Job was completed in one day. Cleanup was swift and complete including disposing of old door and track.. The new door is extremely quiet (direct-drive), and one follow-up call for a minor adjustment was most professional.  I would highly recommend SEARS for this work to anyone in the future. They were cost-competitive, innovative, professional, and used top-quality products. 

The experience was alright with Sears Home Improvement. They left the tile too wet at the end of the job. The clean-up wasn't that great, we were left mopping up the excess water. My mother was elderly and we did not want her to slip. It was a pleasant enough experience. I moved the furniture on my own. He was a nice, courteous young man. He was there when he said he was going to be. The tile was clean, but it wasn't as dry as I would have liked for it to be. I would not use them again.

THEY HAVE CAME OUT ABOUT 15 TIMES TO KEEP FIXING MY REFRIGERATOR. THE REFRIGERATOR WAS NEW IN 2002, SO IT SHOULD NOT BE HAVING ALL THESE PROBLEMS. SOMETIMES IT WILL JUST ALL OF THE SUDDEN STOP COOLING. WHEN I CALLED THEM MONDAY MORNING, THEY TOLD ME THEY COULD NOT COME OUT UNTIL FRIDAY. EVERYTHING IN THE FREEZER THEN HAS TO BE THROWN OUT. EVERY TIME I CALL TO COMPLAIN ABOUT IT THEY ARE SYMPATHETIC AND THEY SAY THEY WILL SEND OUT A TECHNICIAN. I TOLD THEM I WOULD LIKE IT REPLACED BUT THEY JUST IGNORE ME.

THEY DID A GREAT JOB AND FOUND EXTRA THINGS THAT WERE WRONG THAT THEY FIXED IT FOR ME. THEY WERE VERY PROMPT AND TOOK INTO CONSIDERATION MY BREATHING CONDITION. ALSO FOUND LOTS OF MATCHES TO MISSING SOCKS!!!

THE GUYS WERE VERY POLITE AND VERY NICE. IT WAS EASY TO GET AN APPOINTMENT, AND THEY KEPT IT AS WELL. I DON'T KNOW YET IF IT MADE A WHOLE LOT OF DIFFERENCE IN GETTING LESS DUST AROUND THE HOUSE, BUT TIME WILL TELL. I HAD CALLED ANOTHER COMPANY, DUCTBUSTERS, AND THEY WANTED $1500 FOR THE JOB! THIS IS MORE REASONABLE.

FIVE REPAIR CALLS ON THE SAME ITEM WITH 5 DIFFERENT REPAIRMEN. DIDN'T SHOW UP WHEN SCHEDULED ON AT LEAST THREE ATTEMPTS. NASTY ATTITUDE OF THE LAST REPAIRMAN. CONTINUOUSLY PRODDED BY TELEMARKETERS TO EXTEND AND EXPAND WARRANTY SERVICE.
