From start to finish, Gary is a professional. He arrived at the appointed time and proceeded to review with me what we had in mind for built-in bookcases.  We also discussed the building of a desk and bookcase stairs.  Gary took his time to evaluate the rooms and listen to what we were looking for.   Color, type of wood, size and level of shelves were all discussed at the first meeting.  Within the agreed time frame (approx. 2 weeks) Gary provided a contract outlining the work and prices.  We agreed to the terms of the contract, sent a deposit and were provided with detailed drawings of the bookcases.  Once Gary began constructing the bookcases in his shop, he provided samples of wood, color and style of trim.  One room already had a stained wood wall which Gary matched  perfectly on the bookcases that were built in that room.  Because the second room included many more bookcases, we decided on a more contemporary style for the wood trim and a white finish.  Gary completed the smaller room first, installing the bookcases which had already been partially assembled in his shop. After a couple weeks, he was back to install the second room.  Gary takes great pride in his work, as he should.  When arriving with the partially assembled cases, he carefully lays down cloths so that the cases would not be scratched.  He also cleans up before he leaves.  I have already booked him to create and install additional cabinetry in another room in the house.

Gary built me 3/4"custom solid wood cabinets. I removed a wall and relocated my refrigerator which required a special treatment that required a custom treatment. I had shopped extensively because I didn't't think I could afford custom cabinets, and in the end Gary actually beat the price of all the other options. His price included complete installation with his custom mouldings, undercabinet lighting, four lazy Susan's in the corner cabinets, double trash pullout, tilt tray at the sink, rain glass doors on a custom china cabinet, two large pullout trays for pot storage, glass front drawers on the peninsula, and a roll top for a little custom office niche. Best of all he created a beautiful surround for the refrigerator that turned that problem area into a furniture quality piece. He was prompt, courteous, professional and pleasant to work with. I had originally considered the cabinets just necessary storage to support my new countertops, so I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of his work that resulted in furniture quality pieces that really are the star of the kitchen. I've been enjoying my new kitchen for six months now, and I am so pleased to have everything exactly where I wanted it. Even if you have no need of custom work due to unusual space requirements, you cannot beat Gary for quality. I shopped the big box stores, even tried 5 day cabinets, and Gary's,all inclusive pricing ended up beating even the cheapest options and you get 3x the quality and the flexibility of any finish and any options which was a real challenge for me working with ready made cabinet lines.

I remodeled my kitchen and removed a,wall between the old kitchen and adjacent laundry room. This left me a 16x20 foot space, and lots of room for cabinets. The new plan moved the fridge into the center, which seemed pretty straightforward to me but seemed to confuse designers, and after shopping all summer for someone to redo my kitchen I ended up with the construction part almost finished, and cabinets not even ordered. Luckily my GC told me about Gary Fliess, but I felt a little hesitant to call him because my budget was pretty tight and the space is quite large. I liked Gary from the first phone call, he said he Iikes to eat, so he must be competitive. He came out promptly, understood the refrigerator concept right away and drew up the plans. I got exactly what I wanted- no more "That option doesn't come in this line" or assurances that I'd have to "reign in" my expectations to fit my budget. I got all the bells and whistles I'd been dreaming of, in a finished product far beyond my expectations! Cabinets are all wood, 3/4 inch boxes, finished on the insides and all shelf edges. They are sturdy and beautiful, hardwood doors and finished nicer than any factory finish I saw while shopping. I got a buttermilk paint finish, always the most expensive in the stores with the fewest choices of style. This is a really professional job! The mouldings are amazing, and give the cabinets the look of fine furniture. Gary got the boxes done in 3 weeks, so the stone people could get in to template, and finished up promptly as,soon as the granite had been installed. We stayed right on timetable and the finished kitchen is way beyond my expectations. If you live in the area, and are planning to get new cabinets I cannot say enough about this fine craftsman. Look around, then call Gary. And his quoted price was all inclusive. He installs his own work at no extra charge! I had been told installation would be 2,500.00 (Lowes) or 30% (Home Depot). I believe 5 Day Cabinets was also 2500.00 to install. So remember that when you get a quote. But most importantly, the quality of Gary's work will outshine anything you can buy. I go into the big box stores now and see those Kraftmaid cabinets I almost bought and am so grateful that I found Gary!

Gary was very professional and communicates often, answering questions and providing info, he's very easy to work with. He listened to what I wanted and delivered exactly what I asked for. He was on time for every appointment. Gary is very reliable and his work is top notch, I am very happy with my porch furniture that he built for me.
