Hair Salons/Barbers
They didn’t schedule enough time to do both the cut and color so they asked me to come back to do the cut. They asked me if I wanted the cut or the color first and I said I wanted the color first because you can then cut off what’s damaged. They were very unprofessional and it was unbelievable. They thought that they would charge $70 for a haircut and $110 for a color. I paid $49 for both of those things and I thought it was okay considering the other prices that I saw around town. I thought it would be a great place if they are charging that much money. The girl that did my hair wasn’t the regular operator there. She evidently had just gotten out of school and she had to ask the owner everything. I should have figured something was definitely wrong since it looked like it was a very shabbily converted restaurant. The kitchen area where they had the greasy vents was the washing station for your hair. It was a terrible experience. I am almost 40 miles away, one direction. It was like an 80 mile trip for me to go back. When I had the color done, the girl had booked a very short amount of time, like less than 2 hours. I have long hair and she wanted me to leave with wet hair. When you pay $110, which is their normal charge for a color, you would expect to get a blow out. She burned my ear. I asked her to dry it instead of leaving with wet hair; so she put it on high heat. She started to burn my hair so I just left. When I went back to get the cut done, the girl was so mad at me because I asked her to dry my hair and then said no since she was burning my hair so she asked me to go. I then went back the next day for the cut and I was a little leery about having her go near my long blonde hair. They can get real vindictive and take away 2 or 3 inches. I just wanted my hair to be trimmed half an inch. I told her that and she went through the motions of snipping. Every time she addressed me, she looked at herself in the mirror; it was hysterical. She was snipping and I kept waiting for some hair to fall on the floor, but nothing ever fell. I asked her if she was really cutting anything since I couldn’t see any hair. She told me that I wouldn’t be able to see my hair on the floor. I then turned all the way around in my chair and told her that I didn’t see a bit of my blonde hair on the brown floor. Then the manager Sarah herself came over. She was on the other side of the mirror; it was a very strange set up. Every single chair was like from some old beauty parlor. There were 4 chairs there for the work and not one matched another. They were 4 different looking chairs with the mirror in the middle between the 2 chairs. It was a double sided mirror. They had one person on one side and one person on the other side which was very disconcerting. The mirror started about knee height and went up. When you are there and looking at yourself in the mirror, you can see another pair of legs underneath your body. It was really weird. Sarah came and said that there was hair on the floor. She took the broom and she swept all around my chair and I looked at it. I then asked her where it was. Then she told me to get up half way. I walked out with wet hair that day. It was a joke and an absolute nightmare. She then said that I was being awfully picky and demanding. When I asked for directions on how to get there, I said that I was coming in from the south Main Street. I asked them if they were on the right or the left. The guy gave me all the wrong directions. I would never ever use their services again.
