I paid $495 to have a leak repaired. The leak was not repaired and I was then told I needed s new roof. They did not want to reimburse the money so I used a different company

They left a lot of old shingles in the gutters, huge pieces of tar paper and a lot of junk. They also bent the gutters, I tried reaching them and got the run around for abut 6 months and finally gave up and had to hire someone to fix the damaged gutters and their covers and remove all the debris left in the gutters by the roofers. Once they got paid, they were no longer interested in me or the job and never returned my calls. They are not the professionals that I expected.

Had another roofer attempt to repair the roof unsuccessfully. That roofer stated since the initial repair did not work they would have to tear up and replace shingles and provided an estimate. I called McDavid roofing for a second opinion based on ratings from Angies list. He concurred with the first company's assessment and then provided a more competitive bid. I thought they did a great job. The leak is fixed, they were in and out within 2-3 hours, and cleaned up the entire site. Very nice to work with - will use again if needed for future projects.

We had a one day delay due to the rains this month and that was only a delay in starting.



I received five roofing cost estimates, and McDavid Roofing was the least expensive.



McDavid is family owned and local to Alachua County.



I purchased the TAMKO Heritage shingle that comes with the 30-yr limited warranty with 15-yr full start warranty, 15 yr warranty of winds up to 130mph, and 10-yr warranty against algae for only $450 over the standard shingle price.



The price quoted above does include the Heritage upgrade for a 1750 square feet home 3 bedroom and 2 bath. The oversized garage and the back porch the length of the house are not included in square footage.



I was concerned about trucks driving near my septic field, sprinkler system, and well - the debris truck stayed on concrete near the garage all three days of the job.



An energetic and polite team of 5 or 6 men showed every day by 7am. The area was cleaned every late afternoon before the roofing team left.



There were no cost surprises - the total cost came within $25 of original estimate.



McDavid Roofing performed an excellent job, and the cost was at least $1000 less than any of the other roofing estimates.

I had McDavid Roofing re-roof the back of my house. They did an excellent job - from the quote process through the clean-up. They're a family business, so a family member was involved in all aspects of my project. They were thorough in their work and answered all my questions before and along the way.
Their bid was about $200+ more than the other company I requested a bid from, but I selected McDavid based on the high Angie's list ratings they had received. I'm glad I did and I would hardily recommend them to others. They are professional, thorough, friendly and their work is very good and reasonably priced.

They were $600 less than the other bid. Very professional, friendly, and accommodating. When I finally made the decision to get it done, because I had some leaks; I was a little surprised at how far out they were booked. But, what was waiting going to do, since it was already leaking. So, I signed the contract on 6/7/13 and gave a deposit. They scheduled me for 7/25/13 or first available. Well, I got moved up to 7/18/13 and job was just completed 7/19/13. They were constantly cleaning up behind themselves and were very informative through out the 2 days as to what needed extra work because of the rot. They are a locally owned company (father and 2 sons + employees) and there is ALWAYS a foreman onsite. One of my light fixtures fell and broke and they offered to come in and clean up the glass and replace the globe. I would highly recommend them if you need a new roof or a patch/repair.

We received an estimate on May 7. I called in with a question as to handling the area where gutter water was heavy on the current roof. I did not receive a response. Being a small job, they had to work us in to the schedule. While I understand this need to work us in, it took a call and an email to determine when they would be coming. I would have appreciated a call regarding timing after we sent the check on May 11 which was cashed by May 13, rather than having to call/email them to determine when they would be coming. For this reason, I could not give a better rating to responsiveness.
The work was completed on May 28th, efficiently, and included taking off existing shingles, replacing wood where needed, putting on new flashing, and clean up. This was done well, the workers professional and careful with new plantings in the area. This is the second time we have used McDavid during the 30 years we have lived in Gainesville. The first time was for a new roof at our first residence. I will definitely use them again.

He was excellent. He was very thorough and punctual. His staff was very nice as well. They cleaned up the place after the work.

My first contact with McDavid Roofing was when I called about repairing a leak in my roof. Even tho I was not an existing customer of their company, they sent someone over right away to make an emergency repair. The existing roof was about 20 years old, so I had McDavid Roofing replace the entire roof a few weeks later. I was somewhat clueless when I went to their office to pick out the type and color of shingles that I should get, but they were very helpful and guided me through the process. They even took sample shingles outside to show me what they would look like in outdoor lighting. This is important because shingles do look different when you take them outside. I am very happy with the shingles that they helped me pick out. They were prompt when putting on the new roof and they also cleaned up all scrap materials. I will definitely use this company again.

I was called out of town on a emergency the day before the roofer were due to arrive,since they had gone out of there way to get date set for the reroofing that I felt that I could not cancel them on such short notice, my Daughter was here to answer any question are to phone me if needed, when
I return home I was very pleased at the job that had been done,everything had been clean up the roof was all I had hoped for and also one of the roofer help my Daughter remove some debre that had fallen into the house when they removed the skylight,that sounds bad but it was small stuff that was lodged on the plexiglass that seals off the room
