Jim Lockhart is the best of the best. From the time we were planning our project right through completion, he was the model of precision and professionalism. While Jim owns the business, he also worked on site each and every day. Our project together included a 2nd floor master suite addition, additional bathroom remodel, new roof, siding, windows, and HVAC! Jim was always on time and showed up when he said he was. Once our project started he was there every day consistently and worked incredibly hard each day. He worked with high quality sub-contractors when necessary (roof, electrical, and plumbing) and held them to highest standard and was on site while they worked. While construction was occuring, Jim was careful to keep our house as clean as possible and took extra care to ensure my children were comfortable and safe and their home. Jim even took the time say good morning to our dog each day in an effort to make our whole family comfortable! He cleaned each and every day. He was a master communicator and walked us through each step from start to finish. Jim worked on our home for almost 6 months and he took every detail seriously every day. I would highly recommend Jim for any scale job! You would be hard pressed to find a more skilled or professional contractor!

We had a total remodel of our kitchen with removal of walls and basically everything gutted down to the studs. Jim work with us through the initial design of the kitchen all the way through the final walk through. Our kitchen is FANTASTIC! Jim was able to provide valuable insight throughout the process and guided us through all of the key decisions on layout and construction plans. When challenges came up or unexpected repairs were needed, Jim explained the approach and got everything set up perfectly. Our kitchen is now the focal point in our house and we are so happy we went with Lockhart Construction!

Jim was great to work with from start to finish. We did an entire interior remodel on an older home. Jim made great suggestions along the way, and designed everything using software that he shared with us, enabling us to see exactly how the layout would work, before starting anything. Despite doing the project during all the 2020 supply chain disruptions with materials, Jim finished on time. The quality was unbelievable. If you want an honest contractor with integrity and a ton of experience, Jim is your guy. His price was more than reasonable. Hands down, the best contractor I have ever worked with, and I have worked with a lot!

We hired Jim Lockhart to design and construct our old run down screened porch and make it into a 3 season porch. Jim used excellent communication skills and computer technology to design,explain, and show pictures of the finished product. His 40 plus years of experience were evident when he went over the progress of the project. Cost factor of the project was reasonable and fair. He also, put in two new storm doors and did and excellent job selecting and installing the doors. Jim and his crew go out of their way to make you satisfied. They take great pride in their work and do and excellent clean up job. I highly recommend Jim. His quality of work is as if he is working on his own home and would treat your home as if it was his. Jim and his crew exceeded our expectations. Jim and his crew showed honest communication and trust.

The community I live in was actively looking for a General Contractor to do some repair work on our homes. It was a big project and we wanted to all use the same person for consistency and ease of communication. We found Jim online and had a meeting with him on August 1 with multiple people in the community. Jim seemed knowledgeable, organized, professional and friendly and the community decided that we wanted to work with Jim. I scheduled a 1:1 consultation to look at work that needed to be done and Jim arrived and did that consultation on August 20. I was told I would have a quote for a price within a few days. On August 27 I followed up by email asking for an update, to which Jim replied that day that he would have it to me by that weekend. Today is September 26 and I still have not heard back from Jim. I have tried following up by email, by calling both his cell phone and office number, and leaving voicemails on both and I have gotten no response. I've also spoken with other community members who have not heard from Jim for weeks and never had the chance to get their projects evaluated. He has more or less ghosted the project and the community. I cannot recommend Jim because the of lack of contact and communication after multiple times trying to follow up and see what the status is of taking this project on.

I contacted Jim because my door jam had cracked and broken away. He came out and took a look, and pointed out a few other things - some that I had previously noticed, and others that I hadn't, but had noticed the symptoms (improper weather stripping, for example). The price was extremely reasonable, and the quality of the work was top notch. He was also very clean, and left no mess behind.

Jim Lockhart did an excellent job installing hand railings on the front and back porches of my house. They serve functionally and aesthetically as both safety and design elements. Working with Jim was great. His estimates and suggestions were excellent. He's a great communicator. His crew was very hard working and Jim supervised excellently. I would hire Jim for any and all future home improvement work.

I hired Jim Lockhart to evaluate a townhouse as a candidate for major rehabilitation. He gave a detailed estimate of the costs and warned of a possibly expensive problem with the rear foundation. He reported this even though it probably cost him the job since this factor made the project impractical. He could have withheld that information and then sprung it on me in the middle of repairs, but he did not. I greatly appreciate his honesty and integrity in warning me on this. If I find another project, he will be the first one I call.

Jim, the owner, changed out broken springs on my garage door. Not only was he very polite and courteous, he was able to come the same day and proposed arriving 30 minutes after I got home. Because we're living in a time where you have to be a bit more cautious about who you have working in your home, I was blown away and felt at ease by Jim emailing me his contractor license and liability insurance certificate immediately upon scheduling the appointment. After completing the job, he was nice enough to discuss a large project I am thinking of doing in the near future and things I should consider. I found him to be extremely knowledgeable and greatly appreciated his patience and *willingness* to answer the many questions I had. I am definitely a happy customer and would highly recommend him.

Jim built handicap ramps, finished existing door molding and mounted electric spot lights on my house. He did this with VERY short notice and his responsiveness, customer service, and quality of work is unsurpassed. Crew was outgoing, friendly, very friendly and instilled trust. Some of his competitors might be cheaper but I know from experience that I dont want the headaches and extra long term costs that come with cutting corners.

My wife and I recently hired Lockhart to install curtain rods in our two story family room, 17 feet high. Jim and his team went above and beyond to insure that everything was perfect. They even used special screws that we needed to hold the rods in place, and took the rods down and put them back to ensure they were in the perfect place. They even repaired and repainted the drywall when they were done. These guys do a great job, and are very courteous and extremely professional. I'd recommend them for anything!

The owner of the company came out and gave an estimate, he was straight and to the point He had 2 of his employees come out, they were very polite, courteous and very patient in answering all of our questions. We were extremely happy with the electrical work and the spotlights that were installed outside.

I hired Lockhart Construction LLC on Mar 2016 to demolish a wood fireplace and replace with a gas fireplace. I also needed the wall around the fireplace straightened / repaired. I expected better. Quality of work: (1) The exterior addition (gas chamber) is not as proposed on the contract; my understanding based on the proposal was the roof would be lower so there would be gutters installed. He installed a diverter instead that allows rain to flow under it especially during heavy rains; water runs down the walls forming stains. I asked him to look at it after the project was over; he says he did but I still have the same issue. This will now need to be corrected by probably someone else; means more $ out of pocket. (2) I specifically asked that the wall around the fireplace be straightened; however, he ended up covering the bend by installing a piece of wood that hides the bend. (3) Finally, I believe he barely supervised his contractors; the masonry worked alone on day one. The electrician/HVAC contractor worked in my basement leaving dirt, concrete and nails on my basement shelves, items stored (I believe they were not covered while they worked) and floor. Communication: The project took longer that estimated, about double the time; I was barely informed of delays and had to constantly email him to get an update. There are days / times I expected he would be at my place and I couldn't get a hold of him.

Jim and his team did a great job! We were on a tight timeline due to a baby on the way and they made our project happen on a quick timeline with the highest level of quality we could have asked for.
