She is very good at visual design: materials, colors and patterns, appliance style. She chose the right stone and tiles to complement the cabinets. I would certainly hire her again for that. She's fair at managing the execution of a project. Some of her contractors (electrician, plumber, tilesetter) are very good. She wouldn't give an estimate for her general contractor's work, who billed at $200/hr. All payments had to be made to her. She did not disclose any commissions on her suppliers/contractors' work. She twice physically moved between me and the countertop installers when she was signing papers. She sat through the lengthy, mediocre countertop installation and billed me for her time but didn't intervene on my behalf. She didn't recognize that thinner countertops + thicker floor would have a significant effect on countertop height (now <35"), seeing each change and proposing cosmetic solutions only separately. She showed no interest in seeing the completed project.
