Henning's Hardwood Floors

Mike and Ryan were wonderful! The hardwood floors look so beautiful. We live in a historic farmhouse and he was able to keep the character while making it beautiful. They were punctual, polite, thoughtful and great people. Mike was extremely knowledgable and helped us understand the entire process and explained the pros/cons on the various types of polyurethanes. We have had other hardwood floor contractors do other work for us, which was good. Henning's hardwood floor's workmanship and quality outshines all other contractors we have hired. We would definitely hire him again for other hardwood floors work.

Mike Henning is great to work with. We chose him when we got three estimates for the hardwood floors in our kitchen. His bid for the job was fair but we chose him for the enthusiasm and compassion he demonstrated for his work when he came to give the estimate. He clearly loves what he does. Communication was excellent by way of text and e-mail and telephone calls. His punctuality is perfect. He has three longtime employees/workers but, he himself, kept a close eye on the progress of the job. He moved the gas stove and refrigerator from the kitchen. He installed and put on the finishing touches in about four days. He blocked off the work area from dust. In the end, it was a clean job with no collateral damage to the house. He's a hard worker. He came to our house on a Sunday to put some finishing touches on the work. In the end we had beautiful hardwood floors!

Mike Henning came to our house promptly when we called, and gave us a detail written estimate. He scheduled the job to meet our needs, and showed up on time and completed the job quickly, and professionally. He took care to be neat and clean during the install, and cleaned up the work site upon completion. The flooring looks great - we are very pleased with the work. We had talked to 3 other neighbors who used Henning Hardwood Floors, and received universally positive reviews and recommendations. We would gladly use them again for future work, and are please to provide our recommendation.

They arrived promptly, worked tirelessly and cleaned up beautifully. We are very pleased with the results. The workmanship is excellent. They carefully removed appliances as needed and replaced them after the floors were completed. They returned to finish up some trim work since the level of the kitchen floor had dropped due to the tile removal, door trim was replaced and quarter round installed around all flooring and kitchen cabinets. They also installed new baseboards in the family room and kitchen which was an unexpected bonus! It looks great and we would definitely use him again. They are very professional and had some great suggestions.

Excellent. The new wood matches perfectly with the rest of the wood through the house. The deep gash is completely gone, and the floors look amazing, brand new. Buyers loved the new floors and we had 2 offers in 6 days. Mike gave us a few options and then made a rcommendation that wasnt the most expensive. He also broke the job into 2 weeks so we could move furniture from one side to the other. Finally, there were a few nit picky imperfections that he fixed with no questions asked. Great job Mike!

The original hardwood floors on the first floor of our 116 year old house were in pretty bad shape. There were gouge marks from previous owner's dogs, dirt stains, spots where the the finish had completely worn away, and even gaps in the floor where the light from the basement could be seen. I called and left a message with Mike Henning, and almost immediately got a call back to schedule an estimate. Mike came out to examine the flooring and described what our options would be. He is extremely courteous, professional, and very knowledgeable about his trade. After scheduling the date for the work, Mike called us the week prior to the start date to go over the process and make sure we understood what would be entailed. Mike and his team were prompt, worked quickly and efficiently and now we have 116 year old pine floors that look amazing. We could not be happier with the outcome and would HIGHLY recommend Henning's Hardwood Floors.

I love my floors and couldn't be more satisfied with both Mike and Ryan who completed the project. They were very personable, reliable, and customer-service oriented. Mike is amazing. Hands down the best experience I have had from a contractor. From the very beginning Mike was responsive to my initial inquiry about the floors. He takes all the time you need to answer your questions and makes himself available to review all your flooring options. His pricing estimate was fair and he stuck exactly to what he quoted for the service. I was initially concerned about the dust that the sanding would make as well as fumes from the poly used for the floors. Mike reviewed my options and clearly laid out the pro's and con's to each option. He allowed me to make the choice I would be happiest with. When the work began he started and finished on time. His sanding machines are excellent at collecting dust. He sealed off the rooms he was sanding and when he was done there was no dust to be found. The walls in the rooms he was sanding were spotless and the floors looked great. He worked hard to get some tough stains out leaving the floors looking like new. When it was time to choose the color of the floors, he provided card samples and when we narrowed down our choices he stained the floor in a few areas so we could think about the color we liked best. We were extremely happy with the color and the finished product. He kept us informed every step of the way and finished ahead of schedule. Mike makes it obvious that he cares about his customers and does excellent work. I would not hesitate for a second to recommend him to both family and friends. If you are looking for any flooring work call Mike. You will be very happy!!!

Mike was a pleasure to work with. He provided a detailed quote of all work to be performed and established an accurate time line for the completion of the job. Overall we were extremely pleased and would not hesitate to recommend his services.

They showed up on time each day for a four day job: they left the house spotless each night and I was kept informed along the way with what to expect (e.g., sanding, drying times, off-gassing odors, etc.) The owner (Mike Henning) has ~20 years of experience and it really showed as he was able to address a few repairs that I was worried about. They also blended the newly refinished floors very nicely with the adjoining rooms. Floors had 18 years of traffic and today they look better than brand new! His company uses higher-end, world class equipment and products but the results are worth the extra money.

The job went perfectly. Everything was on time and on budget. My father is a hardwood installer and so I was able to quickly figure out that Mike really knows what he's doing. I only wish they did other types of remodeling work so I could hire them for those as well. The results of their work are beautiful. There were a lot of tricky problems with the stairs which were originally carpeted and had dark stains where the carpet tacks were embedded in the wood. Mike managed to clean these up and hide them quite artfully with stained trim. There were other places in the floors where the boards had drifted apart or become loose. They tightened up all these spots (without even being asked.) They paid a lot of attention to the details of the job, and took the time to make sure that things looked good. Thanks guys!

I was extremely satisfied with Mike's work. He did an excellent job and did it in less than half of the time other providers quoted. He worked around my schedule. He and his helper moved my furniture and even cared for my two cats while he was at my home since I was away. I would certainly recommend Mike Henning Floors.

It went well. He was able to do the job in to sections so I wouldn't have to move all of my stuff downstairs. He had a lot of machinery to carry to the second floor by himself. He's an early riser. He knows how to do his profession. There was one repair that I was a little ify on. The guys who put in my return vent earlier cut too much of the floor so the vent shuffled a lot (there was carpet over at the time. I asked him if we could repair it. I had to leave that day for work, and he did a repair. I was assuming that he would pop out some of the boards for longer ones to get the vent to stop shifting, it only need to be an inch longer maybe? I lift of the vent and there's duct tape around nails and the vent. I asked him if he would do the same thing to his own house. He said he did the best he could with what he had and he would come back if needed. He didn't charge me for the duct tape job, btw. I had already fixed it by nailing shims to the sides of the vent hole. We also went back and forth on what we should or shouldn't have to repair...since there were pet stains on the wood. Overall, I'm happy with the final look and the price.

Mike did a beautiful job on the hardwood floors in the guest bedroom. We are refinishing our home one room at a time. This was our 3rd bedroom. We decided to have the existing hardwood floors refinished. Mike provided an estimate in a timely manner. Once we decided to go ahead with the project, he worked with us to select a date. He used a product that have very low odor so we didn't need to leave the house. The project was completed in two days and the floors are beautiful! We will use Mike when we are ready to remodel the next room.

I was very pleased with Henning's Hardwood Floors. They provided good work at a fair price. I was most impressed with responsiveness, as Mike always got back to me within the same day, and often within a few hours. This responsiveness stood out far above what I've experienced with any contractor I have used, and was much appreciated. He was helpful in selecting the product and offered good cost effective suggestions that actually enhanced design and quality. All work was performed as promised and completed when promised. Mike and his team were pleasant to work with and trustworthy. The only negative was our walls were more scuffed up after the job than I expected. They worked to touch them up as much as possible, and I guess this is just a consequence of having our entire second floor flooring replaced. The floors look great and were a worthwhile investment. We plan to use them again when we are ready to install wood flooring on our first floor.

The estimate was 1650.00, plus $45 an hour for any repair that may be needed. We are keeping contact via e-mail until the actual work is to be done. I'll update this after the work is completed with the actual cost and work done. He's a nice guy. I asked him if he was available sooner, but unfortunately he is booked.
