 + -1 moreI have never had any problems or concerns with any service issue I've taken to Hayes' sewing. I was in a last-minute crunch and could not wait for the part I needed to arrive (probably within a couple days). In that instance, the staff set me up in the store with one of their demonstration machines to finish the project. The entire family and their staff (many long-time employees) make me feel like I am more than just a customer, when I walk in. There are not many stores like that around anymore, and I'm glad to know they have my back.
Description of Work: I have purchased three different types of sewing machines from the Hayes' family in the past 8 years, and have had them serviced each time at the store. The purchases were not because of dissatisfaction with a machine, but rather because I wanted two specialty machines -- a serger and an embroidery machine. The staff is not hard-pressure to make a sale and will be totally honest with your questions. Purchases of machines come with a free class to help you learn as much as you can. The classes are taught by the same staff who help you with fabric questions, pattern questions, mechanical questions. Mr. Hayes is hands-down a pro regarding sewing machines, and each of his grown daughters can repair anything you bring in, regardless of how roughly it has been handled. They can walk you through troubleshooting over the phone (for no charge), and they will even tweak your machine for no cost (if you happen to be taking a class in their store and the staff decides there is an issue that prevents the user from doing the task correctly). The women even tend to remember the machine you have, which amazes me. I have been sewing for over 40 years and have owned 7 different machines. No store I have ever dealt with cares more about their customers than the Hayes' family. If your machine is ailing, I am certain there is nothing they cannot fix. I have also purchased a refurbished machine from them that came with a guarantee that I could return it for full cost a year later towards the purchase of an upgrade. I kept that machine (and love it).

 + -1 moreI took the machine into the store and a staff member helped me carry it to the repair evaluation table. They asked me what was the problem and I explained that the machine was not turning on. The staff took the machine out of the carrying case, plugged it into the electrical and turned it on and saw that it was not starting up. I filled out a service form with my info and the staff filled in what the problem was and gave me me service receipt. They called the following day and stated that the machine needed a new computer board and they would install it for the service charge. I authorized the service to be done and they told me they would call when it was completed. They called in 3 days and I picked it up on the fourth day. I was glad to have my machine back so I could embroider more.
Description of Work: I have been buying from Hayes Sewing for 13 years now and they have always exceeded my expectations. I have purchased 5 sewing machines from them and have upgraded with each model to improve my sewing quality. It has always been pleasant to go to the store and talk with the Hayes family. I have many questions and I always get an answer that helps me solve my sewing problem. Each of the staff is qualified to answer any question and I feel lucky to have made them my sewing machine store. This particular service call was for my Bernina 730 that needed a new computer board and it was installed and took only 4 days to get my machine back. The price was very reasonable for the work that was done.
