Delaware Valley did an amazing job. They were professional, efficient and very patient when we were trying to pick out the perfect stain.

I?ve used Jim and his crew twice in the past year. First time to refinish hardwood floors in a house I was selling, and the second in the house I recently purchased. I credit in large part our quick sell due to the beautiful floors that Delaware Valley Hardwoods restored for us. Jim?s attention to detail, suggestions on color and design, superior craftsmanship and depth of knowledge is what makes him the guy you need to hire. From the initial meeting, to the final coat of sealer Jim and his crew are professional, communicative and responsive to any questions you may have along the way. When it came to my new home?s needs, I called Jim. He met and exceeded all my expectations once again and left us with floors that not only are beautiful, but increase the value of my home. Hire these guys and trust them to leave you with a beautiful end product. You won?t be sorry.

DO NOT let these people do anything but a straightforward floor refinishing; that is what they do well and NOTHING else.  We needed not only our stairs and upstairs hallway floors refinished, including a new trim piece with a nose along the edge of the hall and at the top of the stairs.  For the most part they did a good job but ONLY with the floor.  It is still evident that our bedroom was finished before the hall (which they assured me it would not be) and there one or two drips of poly on the hall floor (not too noticeable).  The stairs themselves were okay, I notice blemishes but they aren't things you wouldn't see on any floor as old as ours (50+ years).  They also installed new box newels which we had purchase, new balusters, and a new railing.  They were rushing through the job (which they had delayed for 2 weeks leaving us with no railing at all) and now, not only are most of the balusters  loose, because they were cut too short, one has fallen out altogether.  In addition to that, the railing has an elbow at the top of the stairs which comes around to meet the rest of the rail and it is clearly not level, and there is NO WAY they didn't know it wasn't level when they were installing it.  This was a piece we previously made him replace because when it was first installed, we could see that it was cut too short and the railing that met the elbow was not straight because of it.  On top of all of this, the railing and newel posts, which are red oak and only treated with poly, were so rough when they "finished the job" that you didn't even want to touch them.  But at that point we were so disgusted we just wanted them out of our house....which was admittedly a mistake.  We had to sand the newels and railing ourselves and apply about 6/7 coats of poly to get everything to where they should be (which wasn't difficult so why couldn't they accomplish it?).  After a few months the loosening balusters and crooked elbow whichirritates us to no end finally got to us, so I called them back to complain and ask them to fix the mistakes.  I left a very detailed message and asked them to stand behind their work.  That was about 6 weeks ago and to date, no return call.  I cannot stress this enough, these are not carpenters and they have no idea what they are doing when it comes to anything besides sanding and staining and perhaps some easy finish work.  Don't make the same mistake we did!

They were great. James Kramer is great. They were very professional. They were on time. They worked around my schedule, they came back and fixed a couple of things that I wanted redone or I had to have looked at.
