I thought about using the people that re-fit bath tubs but it cost thousands. We found this company on Angies list & it
had good write-ups so we went with them. The job was very labor intensive. Two guys were here for 6 hours working
their magic. When it was finished we were blown away. The quality & craftsmanship are impeccable and VERY worth
the money
Very neat and left the job site spotless.
Made a world of difference in how the tub looked.
Very pleased with the results.
Joe arrived at my house around 8:30 and carefully covered the bathroom walls with plastic sheeting, and prepped the tub and tiles to make sure everything was clean. He brought in an exhaust fan to direct the strong fumes outside while he sprayed the surface coats. Day one's work was complete by 3:00. The next morning Joe returned to caulk the tub and add the nonslip finish to the tub bottom (highly recommended).
Joe asked several times throughout the job if everything was up to my satisfaction (it was). He is highly skilled at his craft and is a true professional. On top of everything else, he is of high character and a genuine friendly, good person. I offer my highest recommendation.
I called Joe about it. It seems there was some communication breakdown. The $389 quote was his standard price for a tub with non-slip surface, not including a soap dish. He offerred to book a second appointment replace the soap dish for the cost of the option (it would be expensive to remix a batch of glaze for such a small area). The last thing he said was that he wasn't in front of his schedule at the moment, but that he would call me the following week to tell me when he could come. I never heard back from him.
Due to the urgency (I had an open house that weekend), I ended up running out to Lowes, buying a soap dish from and doing the replacement myself. This was pretty inconvenient as- 1) they only carry one white soap dish, and it wasn't the right shade of white, so now it doesn't match, and 2) I don't know what I'm doing, so it took me several hours to perform the job.
My biggest complaint is that even if we didn't have clear communication (I remember we did, but I've remembered things incorrectly before), why wouldn't he stop and ask me on the day of the job why I was leaving the soap dish blue? It seems like simple customer service to double check something obvious like that.
I'd still recommend him to others, but would advise to get a written quote (I never did) to keep the job parameters clear, andavoid headaches.
when he was forced to reschedule. The work was carefully and
meticulously done and the finished tub looks as it must have looked in
the early 1900s.
Came to house, assessed the job and provided base estimate with range provide for amount of stripping to be determined once work begins.
Returned on scheduled date. Thoroughly prepped the area, stripped the tub (required total strip), prepared the surface, applied the primer, non-slip surface and final glaze.
Removed most of the protective covering from walls and floor, cleaned the floor and surfaces.
Returned next day to caulk the tub and remove the remaining covers from bath walls.
Tub looks great.
