After having awful experiences with Questron, a MD company, for my monitored alarm system (installed when I bought this townhouse in 11/06), I canceled that contract and found National Security DE in the Yellow Pages. This was the only company that would not make me sign and pay for a three-year contract. Since I planned to move before three years, I decided to sign a contract and, as an appreciation of what they had done, paid for two years in advance. Sean called me today to say that the two years had expired and offered me another contract, asking me to pay for the five months of 2012 during which he hadn't billed me. I explained that I couldn't really afford the monitoring system any longer and he very politely agreed that, since he hadn't contacted me in time, I could just cancel and NOT PAY for the past five months. (He's also a Realtor and offered free advice in how to sell my home myself.
