Prides Court Apartments

I moved into Prides Court at the end of November 2013, and have been stressed out since… Its now March of 2014 roughly 3 months later and its gotten worse.. The grounds are disgusting, the dumpster areas are always filthy (I’ve spent time picking up other peoples trash) There’s GIANT potholes everywhere (have caused damage to my car) The quality of the people living here is a whole other subject, not all are ghetto, ignorant, loud people but I’d say at least 80% are. Upon entering my building you’ll love the filthy, torn up and dated carpeting while walking down the loud creaky stairs, which you’ll hear every time someone comes or goes. The laundry room is for the most part clean but needs serious renovations (holes in the walls). Entering my unit you’ll be surprised to see a nice neat and well kept living space but behind the scenes you’ll hear LOUD ticking and rattling from the plumbing anytime anyone in the building flushes a toilet loud enough to disrupt anything you’re doing (phone calls, reading, writing, movie watching..ect) The heat and thermostat is sooooo old and has never worked correctly even after having maintenance in to resolve it not working at all in the dead of winter, Froze my butt off. Taking a shower is always fun because you have 1 minute before being blasted by freezing cold water the remainder of the shower (my guess is people in the building flushing toilets, running water, or doing laundry but who knows?). The worst part by far is you can hear every single movement that is made from the people who live above me.. It’s so bad that I’m totally stressed out and losing sleep at night.. I know in lots of apartment complex’s even ones ive lived at in the past you’ll hear things from the neighbors but not like this.. It’s so bad that I’m totally embarrassed to invite anyone over at anytime and have even asked my girlfriend to not stay nights with me here and there because of not being able to sleep at night (midnight, 1am, 2am, 3am extremely loud creaking, stomping, and banging) Could the neighbors not be doing so much during these god awful times? Sure.. But it’s not their fault, people have the right to move around in their space when they like.. It’s the crappy and cheap building. Fyi I’m not exaggerating one bit, imagine it then make that 50 times worse. Before moving in I asked the leasing agent if the sounds were bad and she said “you’ll hear things from time to time but its really not that bad” That couldn’t be any further from the truth. I will not be renewing my lease and to anyone who sees this review and still decides to move here you’ll find out first hand and wish you hadn’t. The only positive thing I have to say is that they are reasonably priced but you get what you pay for in this case.
