The heating system and air conditioning system was not turning on. The technician found out that the thermostat was not fully plugged into the wall. I am glad he was able to do this but I wish I could have discovered this myself and would have saved $99.00.

$300
On February 1, 2018 I contacted Boulden Brothers to come out to my home to diagnose and fix toilets that had a progressively weak flush and ran constantly and causing my Artesian water bill to double for two to three months. I was informed by the person I spoke with on the phone that there would be a non-refundable “desination fee” of $90 just for them to come out. Reluctantly I agreed to this since I had been referred to them by an organization where I receive financial coaching. The tech arrived on time and after a couple of test flushes he determined that the toilets were flushing okay. I argued that the flush was declining in strength, that the toilets ran constantly, that I had to giggle the handle to get them to stop and that they had not always been that way. The technician advised me that the only thing he could do was to replace the flappers and handles to see if that would help. {NOTE: There was a second visit to my home after I called to report the problem had not been fixed and I don’t remember, but the handles may have been installed upon the second visit} During one of these visits, there was also discussion of my kitchen faucet that needed to be replaced and I was quoted $478 to replace it. I declined that service. I did, however, end up paying almost $300 including the “desitination fee”) for replacement of the flappers and a handle. Since February, the problem of weak flushing and the toilet running has persisted culminating into a catastrophic incident on August 9th of the toilet overflowing and flooding out my first floor. What was the $300 for? They could not fix the problem; Couldn’t even tell me what the problem was. Due to disputes with other contractors who have done shoddy work in my home, I have become weary and, truthfully, at 62 years of age, I feel like I have no more fight in me. I now have to have find another plumber to look at my plumbing situation again and I know that I could face the same dilemma. I cannot afford to retain a lawyer, however, I will be contacting the News Journal to see what, if anything can be done. I would NEVER refer any one to Boulden Brothers. This is a disgrace. Pam

Electrician arrived right on time. We have an older house, so it took awhile to figure out the wiring, but once done he completed the work quickly. Would use them again.

Tech found a couple of items we needed to know about, showed us photos which was great, not just his "say-so". Gave us a lot of good helpful information, not just about what he found, but what our options are for now and the future. Made an appointment for us for further discussion on what we may like to do. Wonderful! Very professional, very helpful!

Boulden has "gotten out of the water conditioner business," at least in the Cecil County, MD area. They did not let their long term customers know. We now have no choice but to immediately replace the system since no one else near by can service the system either. So, this review is a little difficult to write since it involves no service (which is the problem), and hence no money paid. Note: Boulden typically had good employees who did good work.

I have no idea of the cost because it?s all under the service contract. They come out pretty much twice a year. I want to say that the contract cost $180 a year, I think it is. There is a lot of services with that though. I would say it cost, maybe $40. The price is pretty much like everybody else. They?re really helpful. You have some companies that come in and say, you?re going to need this and you?re going to need this. They say, ?no, your unit is good for a few more years!? They have nothing that they need to improve, I have nothing bad about them. There are coming next week.
