+ -1 moreDon't waste your time! Called to have a small repair done, along with a piano tunning. He shows up with no tools for the repair. He asks if I told his mother when I called that I needed a repair also, I explained I did and he apologizes saying that his vehicle was in the shop and he was driving a temporary vehicle. My initial thought was to send him back to reschedule but I allowed him to tune the piano with the understanding that he would come back to repair ASAP. I explained to him I was playing about 20 hours per week and it was quite annoying so he was aware of the importance of getting the repair done. I made the mistake trusting him and paying him! two weeks later I call and ask if he’s coming back and she sets up a date. About an hour after the appt time I call, she said sorry we didn’t call you, he is sick. . Five weeks later after numerous calls, no response. First it was he had a fever, then it was a friend died out of town however we happened to see him running around town doing other jobs... there are other guys, don't waste your time with this guy!

+ -1 moreHe was honest about the state of the piano, which was no surprise, and that it probably wouldn't hold the tuning for long. He could've tried to sell me on an expensive rebuild, which others have tried. but he gave me the "if it was me" perspective to give me other options if/when we are willing to overcome the sentimental value of the piece. All in all, the piano sounds better than ever, so I would definitely use them again and would recommend to others.

+ -1 moreArrived on time, professional attire and vehicle, expert mannerism and performance, explained everything he did as he did it, timely execution and completion, reasonably priced, left the site in a clean and orderly fashion, family oriented. Ken is an extremely personably individual that literally knows the piano inside and out. The difference in sound was significant, and through his expertise, sounded like an entirely different piano after he performed the tune. I whole-heartedly recommend him over any other tuner!

+ -1 moreWhen the action tray was re-installed, I immediately tested it. Wow, what a difference in the touch and tonality! It actually felt and sounded like a totally different piano. I was satisfied with the result and with the very fair price charged.
Description of Work: Doctor Keith (I refer to him as my piano doctor) removed my action from the piano case and took it to his shop. Now, understand, this grand piano was made in 1897. Although it was restored in 2006, the evenes (the professionals refer to this as "regulation") was terrible. It had not been regulated by the restorer I used in 2006. Consequently, the treble side of the board had a lighter touch and you practically had to pound on the bass side of the board; it would actually make my fingers sore! Also, the piano tonality was very sharp (again, they refer to this as "voicing"). While it was in the shop Doctor Keith and staff not only regulated it, they also voiced it. I actually had stopped playing this piano because it was such as pain. I used my electronic keyboard instead. Suffice to say I was eager to get my grand in shape to play because there's nothing like playing a "real" piano. Proper regulation and voice of a piano is tedious work, just watch some of the You Tube videos on the subject and you readily see the intricacies of the work; it's actually an art and needs to be performed by an experienced expert.

+ -1 more.Mr. Keith tuned our piano. The piano had not been tuned in 14 years. He plans to return in 3 months because the piano could only be brought up in tune so far after so long without a tuning. After the future tuning it will be where it should be. It sounds wonderful even now. so much better. I thank him very much and would recommend him to others.
