Terrible. Plumbing work was amateurish. There were multiple leaks. One drain trap was not even connected to the sink drain, it was a larger size and just slid up over the smaller sink drain pipe. I had to hire a plumber to completely replace all the plumbing they installed (supply and drain piping) and replace more of the very old connected piping/drains that they should have replaced, as is customary in a renovation. Almost all the items we selected were not installed; they installed different, lower cost items without our knowledge or consent (vanity fixtures, bath fixtures, light, towel rack). We could not be present to see the work while it was in progress, so we did not know all of this until they were done. A few weeks after completion we also discovered new floor tiles cracked - first one, then later another. So apparently something about the floor replacement went wrong as well. In my opinion, the workers were not well skilled in their trade and not supervised or mentored by a skilled individual. And it was my impression that the representative of the company only became responsive when he began to fear that we might withhold the final installment of payments. It became obvious to me why they were the lowest bidder.

"Home owner , had a couple minor complaints but lives in different state we had been given 1 week to complete job before his renter came back, some of the materials that had been requested were out of stock and would not be available. We had several problems with the job as the existing plumbing was a disaster and incomplete. I contacted [Member Name Removed] on several occasions about other issues with the house but he didnt want to hear of it. We made every attempted to rectify any and all concerns but we had been denied access by his tenant. When I contacted him about this matter he said dont worry about it because the tenant was leaving in a few weeks and he would take care of anything because his tenant didnt want to be disturbed"

We FIRED him! According to the Insurance Company he accepted their estimates yet was charging us several thousand more. We negotiated with Patrick to get the rate down by us offering to do a lot of the work ourselves. The insurance company gave us a little over $16,000 for the estimate which included, vinyl flooring, kitchen cabinets and counter tops. Patrick's estimate came in close to $20,000 but did not include the flooring, kitchen cabinets or counter tops. We paid him a $3,000 deposit to start the work. He took short cuts on a lot of the work he did. He did not remove the paneling in the laundry room and pantry and just placed the new paneling over it. (See attached photo) We had to tear it all down and once we removed the original paneling found mold growing behind it. We had to treat the mold then put up new paneling. When they were replacing the sub flooring, I discovered mold on the insulation, and his employees were getting ready to just cover it up. They started laying our Cortex flooring and I discovered they had not put down the layer of Luan which the insurance company covered. (see attached photo) We had them take up what they had done lay the Luan then lay the flooring. In laying the flooring, they messed up all the door frames so we had to replace them, they did not cut the bottom of the door frames and slide the flooring under them leaving gaps at each corner of the frames, (see attached picture) They ran several of the same pattern pieces together even after I specifically asked if the new how to lay the flooring and stagger the pattern. The flooring was not installed correctly so we had to pull it all up and redo it. He was supposed to remove our sliding glass door and put the flooring under it, instead they just butted it up to it. The dry wall work was terrible. It was all bubbled and at that point we fired him. He asked me to give him a chance to make the corrections and I said absolutely not. I asked for a refund and he refused, then had the audacity to send my an additional bill for over $2,000. We ended up having to do most of the work ourselves because we did not have the money to hire someone else to finish what he was supposed to do. I have since shown pictures of his work to several contractors who all said the same thing, "It's contractors like him that give us good contractors a bad name". One of the contractors felt so bad for us that he offered to let us use one of his employees to redo the dry wall work at a very minimal price with no profit going to the contractor. I have attached pictures showing the mold on the insulation they were just going to cover up, where you can see the grey paneling they were putting over the existing paneling which was to be removed, (also in this picture you can see where they had started laying the flooring of over the pressed wood), a picture of the mold behind the paneling on the wood and the pipes, the flooring being relayed over the Luan, a picture of my husband working on the reinstall after we pulled the flooring up, a picture showing the pattern on the floor side by side, a picture of the damaged trim, a picture showing all the trim we removed and a picture of the drywall work.
Response from Diamond Contractors and Renovators
"All the statements made above are false and untrue, [Member Name Removed] does not understand the workings of an insurance claim, She even had Delaware lumber confused when I sent her in about the cabinets. This is a case of Insurance fraud on the [Member Name Removed] part. After starting the job and being bargained down on Money We did all the hard work and the [Member Name Removed] went on a trip. Upon there return after telling my Employees that they are going to leave again to go on another trip to Disney World, We had been instructed by [Member Name Removed] to leave the job and they would finish it. Apparently they need The money to take a trip and as shown in pictures they finished the project themselves and pocketed the Insurance money for there trip. I was warned by a salesperson that they had dealt with during this process that they She seemed to be shady and out to screw somebody over."

"This is a Insurance repair that has been completed for more than 8 years before listing was posted, Homeowner signed off to insurance company that the job was fine.Talked to homeowner a few years later and everything was fine and homeowner was happy with the exception of a piece of molding at the front door that was possibly to high, I offered to come out and replace the molding and the homeowner advised me not to worry about it no big deal. Its tough when A company that does work for an insurance company is blamed for what the insurance company allows and not what we do extra that no one pays us for."

the work performed was successful but way overpriced. There were two workers here for a total of 11 hours. The house is now level but for the money seems way too high but I never had a problem like this in any home we've owned.
If I am wrong with my complaint I will gladly apologize but that seems way to high for placing 8 lolly columns, wood and labor.
Patrick did reduced the price from $7600 to $6877. The reason he guys only worked 3 days instead of four.

Response from Diamond Contractors and Renovators
"Mr. [Removed Member Name] was given a quote $7600.00 to install jacks and beams to level out his house. The house had sunk in the middle so bad the cabinet drawers would slide open by themselves. I think Mr [Removed Member Name] owes me and my company an apoligy. I gave him a set price and it was accepted by he and his wife. I had 2 sometimes 3 men working on this project There had been more than 11 hours which is a total by his calculation of 22 man hours. There was definatley more than that spent on this project. also there was a great deal of materials with jacks and beams and joist installed and the customer was more than pleased with the results"

Contractor was prompt on arriving to give an estimate, Mr. Gunning was honest and very helpful in guiding us in the right direction. after all was complete we got a new roof with lifetime guarantee shingles with a 130 mph wind resistance at the same cost of a 25 year shingle. The crew was very polite and clean. They spent extra time making sure there wasn't any nails or debris on the ground. they even cleaned out my gutters

They jacked up the floor under the house because of sagging, they did some trim work. They were friendly but took a while to respond sometimes. They brought the wrong time in the follow up time and just suggested I paint them. It was ok, I would probably use them again.
