I received a good recommendation for this man and his company. He came out and gave me a verbal estimate and a detailed description of the work to be done (attic conversion) as well as a ball-park figure of costs. He said he would be back within the week with the written proposal. I agreed to a time when I would be home to sign it (which meant juggling my schedule to accommodate him). I waited for hours-he never showed. I waited a few days, still nothing. Three weeks later, I came home from work to find an envelope shoved into the crack of my front door. It was the proposal. It's funny that it would be delivered in this manner, as he lives 3 miles from me. I looked it over and there were over 8 things different from our verbal discussion and the price was almost $1,000 higher. Also, there was a clause stating "other jobs with higher priority will supersede my job"??? Does this mean mine would never get done? Another phone call...no answer, just voice mail. I ended up asking for other estimates from two other companies and found one to do the job. Time wasted: 6 weeks.
