Mike and his guys did an excellent job; very good workmanship. The floors look beautiful.
The only frustration was that it took a bit longer than expected. luckily we had not moved in yet, so it wasn't a big inconvenience. The positive side of this is that Mike only has a few employees, and they're busy, but once your job is started, it will be completed by the same few guys who started it...

They did an excellent job in terms of what needed to be done. They moved the furniture very careful, and took care of my belongings. They did a good job cleaning up after. They worked in a very timely fashion. I thought it would take 2 days, but they finished in 1 day. They price was fair. Mike, the boss, was easy to talk to, measured everything. Told me what I needed to do, and how much material I would need to purchase. I'm very pleased with the work.

We purchased our hardwood floors through a flooring wholesaler that provides installation through a third party. The third party essentially assigned Dills to do our work. We did not select them ourselves. THE GOOD: The estimator from Dills arrived on time, was thorough, and answered all of our questions. The installers did a nice job and worked fast on a tight timeline. THE BAD: The worst part of Dills Flooring was dealing with the Dills themselves. We scheduled the install for Jan 6 and put it on the books nearly a month in advance. After scheduling it, we planned around it with work travel Jan 4-5 and family coming into town Jan 7 -9. The morning of Jan 6 - the day they were supposed to show up - at 7:00 am, I received a call from Deb Dills saying that their crew had been out late on a job the night before and were not coming to do the install. They had to finish the previous day's job. They were going to come on Jan 7 instead. I explained why this was a problem since we had family coming that day, but it didn't seem to make any difference. Deb apologized, but she seemed uninterested in working with me to find a solution. Later in the day I left two messages for Deb to ask if they could send someone out in the afternoon to at least get started with the carpet rip-out so they would be ahead of the game on Friday, but no one called me back. Toward the end of the day I e-mailed Deb to express my frustration with not being able to reach anyone and asked if they could consider offering a discount to compensate us for the inconvenience of not showing up on the scheduled date with no advance notice and generally creating a hassle. I received a response from Mike Dills. Mike told me that our job was too small and that his profit on it was too small to offer a discount. He also told me that it was just a one-day delay and that he "cannot be responsible for all other plans." I interpreted that to mean that this job was not a priority for him, that my time was not his concern, and that I shouldn't be frustrated at the delay. If he had offered a 10 percent discount or something, I would have at least felt like he cared about this job, but it was pretty clear that that was not the case. SUMMARY: Because of the change of date, I needed the installers to finish all in one day. They did a nice job and the floors look good. I would not criticize their work. However, because Mike and Deb made the entire experience such an unpleasant one, and because they seemed to have little or no regard for the customer's experience with them, I would never recommend this company to someone else.

They were very professional, personable, and hard workers. The price was very good.
