DUN-RITE Appliance Repair

My fridge stopped cooling. AHS assigned Dun-Rite Appliance Repair. Service tech Jermaine arrived at 10:20am took a look at my fridge and said it's not plugged in, yes I said it's been unplug for over a week. I had to get rid of everything in the fridge and I'm not going to let it constantly run without cooling. He asked did you have any ice buildup? I reply no Ice buildup. He opens up the freezer back panel and said it's the compressor. He immediately follows that statement up with he doesn't do compressors anymore because he's getting too old for that. He then plugs the fridge in and said I do hear the compressor turn on but it could be a relay or something in the coils. No other testing or probing performed, probably because he said I didn't want to bring in my tool bag because its heavy and I don't want to carry it in on something I'm not going to work on. This is the service pro AHS sent to repair my fridge, is a guy who doesn't actually repair refrigerators. Another wasted day.

Jermaine with DUN-RITE has been completely unreliable. He came out through my warranty company to repair my washer and ice maker. He claimed he needed 2 people to fix the washer, but told the warranty company it was missing parts. They sent out Sears Appliance when I complained and one person fixed it in less than 10 minutes. On the ice maker, DUN_RITE made a simple repair but it still wasn't working. The warranty company sent him out again to replace the ice maker this time. He came out and looked at it again and said the entire refrigerator would need to be replaced and he would let the warranty company know. Instead, he tells the warranty company he doesn't know what's wrong and send another contractor out. Now I have to have another appointment because Jermaine is either lying or incompetent. I've tried to contact DUN-RITE several times but he won't return my calls or respond to text messages. BEWARE of this appliance repair company.

He responded promptly and showed up within the time frame promised, and addressed both my problems - one quite simple, and the second by assisting me in getting a $5 part to install myself!

Watch out. Find out what they are going to do and for how much, before you hire them.

He called as soon as I completed the HomeAdvisor request . It was not an emergency (Labor Day weekend). He said he could come out first thing in the morning. Will definitely call again should I have any more appliance (dishwasher) issues

Had to cancel 1st appointment. because he was running 2 hrs late. The 2nd appointment is was also 2 hours late but we waited because we needed the repair. I thought he told me $90 for the trip plus parts. At the end he tacked on $30 for labor and he was here all of 15 minutes. He brought his young son along and had no business cards and gave us no written receipt. Good news is, the microwave works.

He was a most amiable and professional. He was also extremely familiar with our refrigerator brand, Samsung. We will store his contact in our data. Thanks for recommending him.
