Contractor installed fencing. A few months after installation, we had a windy day. I come home to find the fence door hanging and damaged. Bolts and nuts were found on the ground below the hinges. Apparently they were not installed properly or they would not have come apart in the wind. I left several messages before I got ahold of him and he refused to fix the door and hinges. I had to pay out of my pocket to purchase a new door and also hinges as the original hinges were bent beyond repair. A friend of mine hung the new door, which has been on for years without any damages, even with the Hurricanes that have come through. My problem is why couldn't a contractor who routinely does this install it correctly?
