Two (2) years ago, there was a sewage odor in the house. We had a septic pumping company pump out our septic tank. The man said that another day or so and the sewage would have backed up into our house. He also said that our pump used to pump the water into our drain field was not pumping.
We were told by a friend that there was supposed to be a timer with the pump. Upon checking we did find the timer which was not working and was the cause of the pump failure. The timer was not the commercial type specified in the engineering specifications. The timer that was installed could be bought at Walmart for $10 - $15 to time your appliances such as a lamp.
We are getting ready to have our septic tanks cleaned out again and we wanted to have the septic system working properly with the specified timer.
When we contacted Willey & Co., we were told by the owner, Mike Willey, that this cheap timer was what Willey installed in houses five (5) years ago - not the specified timer and, if we wanted to bring it up to specification, it would cost $600.
Mike Willey also said this complaint was out of warranty. We did not get what was specified on the engineering specification and what we paid for.
