Description of Work: Ashton installed paver borders on four sides of my driveway, replaced a concrete front walkway with pavers, built a roughly 20' x 20' paver patio with about 15 linear feet of knee wall, and added landscape beds and plantings to all four sides of the house. We selected Ashton from among other contractors we had contacted based largely on Joe Ashton's design ideas for the front walkway and the patio. Him being able to provide a set of computer graphic images showing almost exactly what the finished project would look like was a huge plus for us. The paver workmanship was excellent and the work crew was friendly and very professional. We were very impressed with how they cleaned up the work site before leaving each day. | |The only two disappointments that prevent me from giving them an A rating Overall and for Quality were with the new planting beds and our irrigation system. I had hoped/expected that the planting beds would be put in by stripping off the sod and replacing at least some of our poor soil with better topsoil or compost. Instead the crew just sprayed herbicide to kill the sod and added mulch over top of it. The finished product looks very nice right now, but I am already having to spray more herbicide to kill patches of grass that are working their way up through the mulch. As far as the irrigation system, the project quote I was given included moving existing spray heads as necessary to accommodate the pavers and, somewhat, the new planting beds. That was done but without much thought to whether the new locations made sense and without leaving me with irrigation specifically dedicated to the new beds. Consequently, as one example, I now have one area with three spray heads within 3 feet of each other and two of those sit under my air conditioning compressor. I expect that I'll have to hire someone in the future to provide me with a more effective design for my irrigation system. | |Nevertheless, I would recommend the Ashton Group to others considering a larger-sized paver project for their home or business.

Description of Work: We've had major issues with our front lawn this summer so decided to hire a landscaper to redo our front lawn with new planting areas and new plants up against the house. The owner was very responsive to our initial phone call and came out on 8/13 to discuss what we wanted and then he took measurements and said he'll get back to us with the plans. He seemed interested in the job but it's now over 3 weeks later and we never heard back from him. Not sure if our job was considered too small for him but we were expecting to pay around $10k. If it was too small, he only had to tell us and we would have pursued another quote from another landscaping company. We met with another landscaper 5 days later and they came back with plans within a week and we've agreed to use them (and paying more than $10k). Not sure what happened with Ashland.

Description of Work: Joe Ashton put an EP Henry paver patio, sidewalk, sitting wall, and gas fired fire pit off the back of our house.

Description of Work: Superior Landscaping Inc came out for providing an estimate for me and I ended up hiring them. They came out two weeks ago to do some work for me. They did some hardscaping and landscaping work.

Description of Work: We had a falling down wooden retaining wall. They replaced it with a new block wall around our pool. They put in a flower bed. Planted some pine trees. Paving was done also.
