Mark is a true professional. He is courteous and pleasant and shows up on the date & time he scheduled you. Mark (working with his Dad 32 years ago when we first met him) completely wired the home we had built in Bethany Beach. When his Dad retired and Mark began his own business he completed additions and upgrades whenever we called him. We moved to our current home 4 years ago and Mark installed 6 ceiling fans, a light fixture in a dark closet, 2 new electrical outlets (kitchen & hallway), moved & centered the ceiling light in our breakfast nook which the builder of this home had not centered, installed a ring tone doorbell, repaired outlets that weren’t working, and numerous other small jobs when we’ve called him. We have referred him to numerous friends & neighbors over the years who have been just as pleased with his workmanship as we are.

After getting an estimate from another contractor, I was unable to schedule the initial contractor to conduct the work. Having seen Mark's truck driving around town, I looked up and called his number to meet him, get an estimate, and get an installation timeline. From start to finish, Mark was efficient, timely, and responsive. This easily won him the job over the other electrician (who had been recommended by a lighting store in the area).
In providing the estimate, Mark arrived THE NEXT DAY to look over the job and give his thoughts. Verbally, he definitely sounded like he knew what he was doing electrically as well as aesthetically (he does). Several aspects of the job were going to be difficult, especially wiring the pendant lights into a clear-stained beadboard ceiling without showing and quot;scarsand quot;. Mark studied the situation for several minutes, then suggested an excellent option that would show the least markings (more to come on this). Within 2 days, Mark provided a detailed PDF of his estimate down to the specific costs for each item of material needed and his estimated labor charge. While ever-so-slightly higher than the other estimate (~$50-100), it was essentially identical, much more professional, and it showed when he stuck to the budget and timeline precisely.
For scheduling, Mark worked within our schedule, but was available within a week to do the work! When he was going to be an hour late due to an emergency job running over into a second day, he called and texted me to ensure it was okay to delay by an hour. Since I'm used to electricians and others showing up whenever they please (i.e. very late), getting this attention for a very slight delay spoke volumes about Mark's professionalism.
Both when Mark showed up for the estimate and when Mark and his assistant showed up for the work days, they were always in Mark West Electrician shirts, again showing his professionalism.
Mark readily adjusted his planned order of work since I was on an important work call and needed some quiet in the kitchen area. Mark and his assistant worked diligently, quickly, and neatly throughout the full first day and into the 1/2 second day. All elements were done PERFECTLY as I wanted them to look. Most impressive was that there was zero evidence of cutting into the beadboard ceiling! I didn't think it could be done, but Mark seemingly worked a miracle. The outdoor lights and electrical outlet were neatly and expertly caulked (not just slapped on like what was done by a generally well-reviewed contractor on a renovation project done a year earlier) and securely attached with weather-resistant products. Absolutely beautiful work across the board. And they vacuumed and cleaned up after themselves throughout the entire house.
I could not have been happier with Mark's work, and would recommend him without reservation.
