Called Ralph’s Appliances and left a message on a Saturday morning. He called back within 10 minutes and arrived within 30 minutes. Had the part on hand and fixed the dryer within 90 minutes. Very courteous, conscientious and polite.

Excellence, it was a cooling element with the ice maker and he had the parts in his truck and fixed it right then and there

Ralph diagnosed the problem over the phone and told me what parts I would need along with the cost of the repair, parts and labor

When my dryer suddenly stopped heating, I went to the phone book and looked for appliance repair. Being thrus. afternoon before Memorial day weekend, I was anxious to find someone that could come out quickly. Ralph filled the bill. He was available, prompt and very reasonable. He had the heating element I needed on his truck and quickly repaired my 9 year old dryer as good as new. I will definitely call him the next time I need any kind of appliance repair.

He was prompt, efficient and very reasonable. He saved a lot of money it would have cost to replace our appliance

Late Saturday we found the refrigerator section of our side by side refrigerator was not cooling. Ralph's Appliances was called Sunday morning. Ralph returned my call later Sunday and a service call was scheduled for 7:30 a.m. Monday. Ralph called Monday morning to let us know he was leaving and he arrived as scheduled. He quickly went to work diagnosing the failure. The heater was tested and was found to have failed. I removed all food from the freezer and stored it in coolers so Ralph could access the heater at the back of the freezer side. Since the freezer side was working properly we did not remove the food before his arrival so this took a significant amount of time that likely added to the total time and hourly charge. In inspecting the heater system Ralph also found a damaged heater thermostat that he recommended changing since it was only a $20 part. If the thermostat was not changed and failed later it would be another service call and perhaps added labor too so I was glad it was found. Ralph had the necessary parts on his truck thus preventing an extended time with the refrigerator not working. After less than two hours the new defrost heater and heater thermostat were installed and access panels, shelves, etc were replaced. The refrigerator cooling was checked and all worked well. I will call Ralph's Appliances the next time I need a major appliance repaired. Ralph's quick response saved much food that otherwise would have been wasted.

I called Ralph's appliances on Thanksgiving evening because my fridge was not getting cold enough. Ralph was quite the professional and returned my call on Thanksgiving night, but I missed it. He then called me at 0645 the next morning to come out and inspect my unit.
He arrived prior to his arrival time(Excellent!!) and was ready to work. I had to go to work so my girlfriend dealt with him. Unfortunately, my landlord came over, rudely refused to let him do any work besides an initial inspection, insulted him and left. My girlfriend apologized for her behavior, paid him for his time, and let him know we would have let him do more, but she refused. We felt terrible that he had come so early for such a small amount of money(diagnose/service fee) and had to send him away.
We still highly recommend him due to three things:
1)He called us back on a HOLIDAY!
2) Came right out the next work day, ready to work.
3)Still gave the landlord different options and never lost his cool when she was very rude, mean, unprofessional and ignorant.
Ralph's appliance is a PROFESSIONAL repair shop who we were confident were conducting GOOD business for a fair price. We totally recommend them!

Our Kenmore Elite Side by Side 25.4 cu. ft. refrigerator decided to start acting up over the weekend of May 15th, 2011. We were able to nurse it through until Monday when I finally FIRMLY asked the hubby to call a repair person. The freezer was barely holding its temperature and the refrigerator was a steady 60 degrees. We called several repair company's and only Ralph and Sears actually answered the phone. Sears wanted $129.00 just to walk in the door. Ralph was charging $55.00 for a service call and to find the problem + parts and labor. He could also come out the next day, Tuesday, first thing in the AM. Sure enough the next morning the phone rang at 7:15AM saying he was on his way. Mr. Ralph arrived in about 20 minutes. He was very professional but also extremely personable. My husband was home as he had a meeting later in the day so he was able to work from home in the morning. However I would have felt perfectly comfortable if I would have had to be home by myself. Ralph went straight to work, saw the problem and its possible causes. He removed all of the frost build up, possibly from the freezer door not sealing properly/closing tightly for a few hours unnoticed, a thermostat problem or a bad electronic board. As the fridge is 6 years old we had decided we did not want to spend too much on repairs as it would not be cost efficient. Ralph himself told us lets just put a new thermostat, an $11.00 part, in and see what happens. Sure enough everything came back to the correct temperature within 20 minutes. Ralph said if the electronic board is bad we would know in 7-10 days as it would freeze up again. He didn't think it was bad, due to the frost pattern and his experience working on these appliances. That is why he didn't think it was a good idea to spend the time and labor pulling it completely out to check it out now. Especially since he could not recommend the cost due to the age of the unit. Now IMO, that is honesty! He was here from about 7:30AM to about 10:00AM which is 2.5 hours. He charged us $126.00 total. That is what Sears wanted for just walking in the door. It's nice doing business with local [email protected]

I had tried calling before, but got his answering machine. I'm in school most days and can't wait for a return call (my mother uses Ralph to repair her appliances and does say he is prompt at returning calls). This particular day I wasn't in school so I called and just happened to reach Ralph in person. I explained the problem with my oven and he said he could be over within the hour. He arrived on time, and was neat and presentable. He was very professional, introduced himself. He went right to work on the stove, testing the components. He had a replacement part available so it was fixed that day (my oven is about 15 years old and not a common brand). Within an hour it was fixed and working. I felt his price was reasonable and the time taken was excellent. I had been without a working oven for a month (mostly because of my schedule). I have heard great things about him from my mother and other people and I'm glad I called him.

We left a message for Ralph's that our gas oven had stopped working on a Tuesday. We received a call back the next morning (at 06:30, a little early, but okay) stating he could be there by 7:30. He came over, arrived at the stated time, and began working immediately. He was very professional but also friendly, and seemed highly competent. He had the problem diagnosed in short order. Once diagnosed he had the required part in his truck and installed it without complications. He tested it to ensure that the oven was working properly. From the time he arrived it took perhaps 45 minutes to complete the repair. We were very satisfied with this experience.
