Touch Of Class Fencing

We signed a contract in October and the work was not completed until June. We had half our yard fenced from November until June. They avoided our phone calls for months and only finished the job when we threatened to sue for breach of contract. We are still missing a latch on one of our gates that they said they would come back and install.

Sub Contractor did fair job putting the ramp in. When the sub-contractor quit on him, there was still work to do as it did not pass county inspections. Touch of Class owner came out and did a sub standard job that again did not pass inspection. When attempting him to come out and get this done due to the fact it was for ADA compliance, it took weeks for him to come out as promised. I told he had other jobs to finish. Over two weeks he never showed or contacted us. I finally told him I was going to terminate the contract for default. The contract left the job site in shambles and there still remains old parts, dirt, pavement etc.. left over from the job. The ramp is still not finished and does not meet code is not in accordance with the drawings the city drew up. This is the second job this contractor has failed.

It didn't go well because it was too high. They are the highest in the area and that's what I hear from other people. They're a couple of blocks from my home and so they came fast and came right away.

I contacted the company in the morning and in the afternoon the owner came to my house and provided me with a written estimate on an official form/contract document along with a catalog/verbal price list. I was not able to have the fence installed until after the closing date of the house purchase (30 days later), I was informed that the price of the materials would go up in 5 days but if I committed/paid the down payment to the project he could order the materials under the current price and install at a later date.  I agreed but felt pressure to commit based on the unconfirmed increase in materials price.  After closing on the house it took an additional 30 days to get the fence installed due to the amount of work the comany had.  The owner compensated us for this delay by giving us two solar fence lights ($70 value) for free.  The spacing between each vinyl picket was built to my secifications and each section arrived prebuilt. The installation was completed in two days, the work crews did a good job, followed the erregular property line and even adjusted one side of the fence further onto my property upon my request.  It has been 11 months since the fence was installed, the materials and workmanship have stood up to the sun, wind, rain and snow.  I am very pleased with the overall work.  The down payment/material cost was $2,400.00 and the labor was an additional $2,400.00, as the consumer I felt the price was a little high, especially for the labor.
