I cannot remember exact price but it should be right around the ballpark.
For the estimate, after seeing our things, I was told 2 hours. She could not foresee it exceeding 3 hours
The whole process actually took 4 hours
2 people came in with a U-Haul truck which Iwa told was "free". Let us call them Mover A and Mover B.
Right at the beginning. it was obvious that they did not have a system at all.
They argued with each other constantly on how to do things. It was really taking too long. MOver B was contantly checking his phone and texting.
After a while, I noticed that ONLY Mover A kept going back and forth.
I then saw Mover B (30 minutes into the job) sitting by the stairs and talking on the phone.
I was paying hourly. He stayed on his phone for 25 minutes.(started timing from the moment I caught him)
I asked Mover A, what the h*** is Mover B doing? He just shrugged his shoulders. I told him that I would let their boss know.
I tried calling the owners to report this. I wanted them to reprimand their own employee.I  couldn't get hold of them.
My relative, displeased with the slowness of how things are going on, decided to help out.
He (relative of client) helped Mover A lift heavy furniture from our apartment unit into their U-Haul truck.
They were passing by Mover B by the narrow stairs to go down to their truck and load.
They passed him back and forth at least 5 times, with really heavy stuff
It was virtually impossible that Mover B did not see them.
He did not put down his phone. He did not help out at all.
As I was told by the owners to call for any problems.
I had frantically called them repeatedly with no success and left several voice messages.
Finally, it took them 2 hours 45 mins to call me back.
When I was talking to owner, I told him about my unhappiness with Mover B. I asked him if he was a new employee, he said "we've had him for a while." Owner was not apologetic at all. I never heard the word "sorry." He just chuckled at my story and told me he would handle it. He did not physically come to the site to rectify the situation.
I have no idea if the owner actually talked to Mover B through the phone.  But even after I talked to the owner, Mover B would again have frequent cigarette breaks and phone call breaks every so often  (5-7 minutes in duration each) as they were loading furniture up the stairs. This is while Mover A kept on going.
I decided to end the day even if the move is just 90% complete because it was already 4 hours and I did not want to pay more for this. We moved the remaining things ourselves.
In fairness to them. Mover A was superb. Mover B was just unprofessional. They both did work hard and looked tired carrying our heavy furniture.. but that is their job. We did give them time to catch their breath and constantly gave them fluids to rehydrate.
I would have to admit, that they have the lowest price in the area and they did give me a "free truck" (I also tipped generously to compensate). No matter how much a customer pays, you should do your job well and not make us feel we got what we paid for.
I know that a single employee cannot represent the whole company, but I was also dispapointed abot how the owners responded to me and how long it took to hear from them despite reassuring me they would be available. They should have made sure that there is compatibility and teamwork before they send 2 random employees to a job together. Employees should be taught "workplace etiquette" and develop an effective system to do things. Personal calls should be within reason
This is a job that should have took 2 hours. It took double the amount of time despite us(clients) moving a lot of stuff ourselves
I graded 'D" instead of "F" only because superb Mover A pushed their grade up.

We needed help to move items from a Uhaul trailer into our storage unit.  Kyle and his assistant arrived on time and performed professionally.  I wouldn't hesitate to hire them again.
