I needed emergency work and was told they could have someone here within an hour. The tech arrived promptly and got right to work. He needed an extra part which was very quickly delivered and both techs tackled the job together. They were both very professional and pleasant. I will definitely use them again.

We have Central Air & Heat Pump which is installed in our attic and only has duct work for our 2nd floor, but the A/C wasn't cooling well.   The 1st floor had been unfinished until this past winter.  We advised the technician that we would like to get the current system up and running, but were looking at possibly replacing and putting in ducts for the system to work on the 1st floor.  We were given Option 1 to replace the current system ducts and all for $7800., Option 2 was to replace current system and install a larger system for $9250.  It took approximately 3 weeks and several phone calls to get the estimates.  After seeing there was no option for repairing the current system, I called and asked for Option 3-Get the current system working.  We were told that there may be a leak in the refrigerant line, it could take about $1000 to find and repair.   They would credit the $1000 towards the purchase of Option 1 or Option 2, if we chose to have them do the work next year.  We agreed and asked them to schedule the repair.  They said fine, the secretary would call to schedule.  After not hearing back from them after a week, we called again, the secretary said she would need to speak to the technician and would be in touch with us.  Still no return call or schedule, we called back again and were told the same thing.  In the course of these transactions, we contacted a friend that does HVAC in Washington, DC, he sent a technician that lives on Kent Island.  Yes, there was a slow leak.  $80 to put a can of stop leak in the system, then recharge with refrigerant, and the current system works fine.  Total costs of repair $380.  No, we still don't have Air Conditioning or Heat on our newly finished first floor, but feel that Blades was just trying to replace the system versus repair what we have.

Misled me by estimating Freon needed in my AC unit as "could be 2 or 3 lb's there's no way of telling." Then put in 11 lb's. Gouged me on the price per lb. R.E. Michael hvac dist. sells R22 Freon for appox.$16.65 a lb. wholesale. Blades charged me $90.00 a lb.,that's over 500%. When I asked if they had fixed, what had to be a very large leak, I was told that that would be an additional $500.00. This was after they filled it. I have filed a claim with the Better Business Bureau ( claim # 9533555 ), if you would like to see a more detailed description.... DECEPTIVE ESTIMATE, PRICE GOUGING, INCOMPETENCE. If they do not answer my claim with the B.B.B. my next step is small claims court to get my money back. SENIOR'S BEWARE.

They know their business. They are responsive to our needs. I would give them B on promptness in terms of getting out when I call them. I would use them in the future.
