First Class Contracting is a great company to deal with. Prices are more than fair, and the sales, customer service and the technicians are great. Ask for Charlie and Jesus “Zeus" they know what they are doing. We asked them for a quote on painting the gazebo and cook house which was great, then asked them to replace the rotting railroad ties in the back and front of the house, then asked them to replace some rotting boards on the deck, then asked them to put in gutter guards. They bundled the pricing and gave us a great deal, excellent craftsman, clean supportive, nice guys and great company. They offer a 10% discount, please ask but if you forget they will do it anyway. I highly recommend this company. They are awesome!

Now that I am too old to go up on our roof I need to know who to call that I can trust to do a good job, promptly and at a fair price. In First Class Contracting I have found the company I was looking for. Their representative arrived promptly, assessed my needs and offered to get the work done that same day for a fair price. They are nice people to work with and I found their workmanship to be excellent.

They were able to start the afternoon after we signed the contract.  The gentlemen on the job arrived early in the morning and worked straight through to lunch - then broke for lunch and went right back to work.  I was very impressed with their work ethic as in the past when I have had things done BY OTHER COMPANIES  that was not the case.  The First Class Contracting workers   were careful of our landscape, etc. and made  sure things were protected and covered,  When the job was completed they cleaned up the work area and the whole area was cleaned up by them - it was so nice.

The owner Charlie Evans stopped by often to check the job - picked up supplies needed - they stayed right on target with the job completion and at the end the head foreman took me all around the house explaining the things they did and had me check to make sure everything met my expectations. VERY PLEASED

I WOULD HIGHLEY RECOMMEND THEM

Professional, punctual, responsive, used quality products. Reviewed job after completion. Results blend in with existing roof, does not look at all like a patch job. Performed the repairs in a quality manner and did not short cut the work. Would definitely use again!

I have a flat roof and we have been experiencing some minor leaking during heavy rain. I made initial contact on 10/4 and First Class was at my house just a few days later. The gentleman that came by to review the damage was punctual and overall a very nice person. He inspected the roof and took pictures of the damage - mostly cracks - for me to view. He began to fill the cracks when the owner called to go over all of my options. He talked me through the scope of work and priced out each option. I did not feel he was trying to up sell me unnecessarily. I decided to reseal the entire roof and they were able to come out the next morning and complete the job in its entirety.
The job was completely timely and very professionally. I would recommend First Class to anyone.

Bill Evans rang the door bell.  He said he was in the neighborhood doing a job and asked if I had any problem with my gutters.  He suggested the larger 6K gutter because my cape style house has a large sloping roof and it would prevent water from running over the gutter. He claimed he was the only contractor on the area that made this size.  (I do have a problem with overflow during heavy rainstorms even when the gutters were new.)  I usually do not respond to cold call sales but Mr. Evans said he was on Angie's List so I read his reviews before signing the contract.

They did excellent quality work, are very professional, and cleaned the yard before leaving.  My only regret is not getting cost estimates from a couple other contractors.  I realize 6K gutters are more expensive than regular gutters, but $4800.00 is more than double the price of regular gutters with gutter guards. A internet search found other contractors in the area that install 6K gutters and they come in a wide variety of colors.  Mr. Evans only had white gutters.

They also did some minor repairs to the roof for $1000.00.  I would use them in the future based on the quality of work but would get estimates from other contractors to compare the price difference.

Response from First Class Contracting
"Thanks for the review when we are in a neighborhood (just as every other company) we send out estimators to give out prices, it makes it convenient for both neighbors and workers to get the work completed at a much more convenient time and pace."

As I was washing my car, a young fellow came by handing out flyers for this company.  A little later, Bill came by and asked if I have gotten the flyer, which I had.  We started talking and the subject of gutter guards came up.  All my gutters on the lower part of the house had guards on them (5 gutters) but the four gutters on the second story of the house did not.  He stated that he had a crew working on a project in the development and he could install those guards same date. I have about 120 feet of gutters that they would clean and install the guards on.  We agreed on the price $1,100,00 for the job.  About 30 minutes later the first worker came over and started cleaning the the gutters and the roof.  Second worker came about 30 minutes after that and the two of them started installing the guards and retighting the gutters to the house.  Job done in about an hour, work looks great and they cleaned up all the junk that was in the gutter that they blew out.  Now I just have to wait and see how well they work, which I sure they will work just fine but this fall when the trees drop their leaves will be the real test.  If they don't preform well, I'll update this review.
I would contact them again for any future project that comes up.
Response from First Class Contracting
"Thanks for the great review also if you have any issues with the gutter guards please don't hesitate to contact us and we will have a team come and take care of it. thank you for the work it was a pleasure doing business with you"

To say this was a remarkable encounter and great experience would be close to an understatement.  First Class Contracting had completed working at a neighbor?s house doing roof repair and painting when Charles Evans (owner?) approached me in front of my house soliciting work.  Our house is a four bedroom, 2½ bath two-story built in 1965, and purchased by us in 1993.  It had some of the original wooden shutters and had not been painted since the early 1990?s. In the interim we had replaced all
the windows (solid vinyl) and doors (combination of wood and vinyl) and wrapped much of the trim with aluminum.  After a little negotiating, a check of the work at the neighbor?s and a very positive talk with that neighbor, we verbally agreed upon scope, price and schedule.  The scope was to remove the old and disintegrating shutters, power wash the home exterior, silicone caulk the siding corners and open seams, tape and protect the vinyl windows and doors adjacent to siding tighten any loose asbestos siding by removing loose nails and replacing with screws, paint all the asbestos siding (2 coats of Sherwin Williams ?SuperPaint? exterior acrylic latex) and replace the shutters on the front and one side of the house with raised panel solid color vinyl shutters.  A further reference was provided without request and the scope of work and price were committed to writing which was finalized on Monday morning, 7/15.  Work began that afternoon by a crew of four, Mr. Evans and three employees, and was completed by close of day on Wednesday, 7/17.  That the work was performed so promptly is amazing in itself, but here are some further highlights that made the experience exceptional.
  • When power washing, not only was the exterior siding washed, but so was a concrete patio attached to the rear of the house, a stoop attached to the rear of the garage and the aluminum siding of a small add-on porch attached to one side of the house.
    • When I inquired if two abandoned rusting protruding exterior vents from a previous kitchen relocation could be removed and the area repaired with spare shingles that I had, Mr. Evans was most accommodating and made the requested repair.  Now painted; it looks great.
    • When I realized that painting the front door surround was not part of the original scope and requested it be included, that became part of the work.  Again it looks great.
    • Where shutters were removed that were purposely not being replaced, appropriate repair of the underlying shingles were made and care was taken to assure that the shadows of their prior existence didn?t show through the new paint.
    • Where shutters were being replaced, all the holes from prior shutters and prior repairs were filled with mortar or patch material even where the new shutters would have masked their presence.
    • Downspouts were removed prior to painting and replaced afterwards to assure thorough coverage.
    • All jobs of this nature encounter bumps.  They were absorbed and additional requests that were outside the original scope were completed without additional cost, even though I let it be known that I was expecting to be charged.

The job concluded with a thorough clean-up and walk around.  All-in-all my wife and I couldn?t be more pleased.  First Class Contracting was incredibly prompt and hardworking, exceptionally accommodating and displayed a consistent positive customer service attitude.  The result is beautiful, exceeding our expectations.  We feel we got a quality job and superb value for our money.
