A NEW VIEW LANDSCAPE & DESIGN

Since our front steps, sidewalk, and patio was completed in Dec.2007 we have needed countless repairs.  From sinking steps, to sinking patio and walkway, our problems have not ceased.  We called the BBB to warn about legal action since we have a 5 yr. warranty on workmanship. The BBB had contacted A New View and they did agree to repair the stairs.  

Unfortunately, it was just a patch job, not a full repair.  The landscaper suggested that the entire staircase needed to be disassembled and reassembled on top a better foundation.   In June 2010 we were promised they would do so.  They have never returned.  We emailed them, called them, sent a certified letter with no response.  The BBB had informed us they no longer could contact them as well. 

We contacted the architectural designer who told us she no longer worked there because of numerous customer complaints.  We planned to take  them to small claims court.  We were advised that it will be difficult to collect any monies from A New View  since they were no longer in business.  We are now out $15,000 and hired a new contractor to take apart the previous work and repair.

The new contractor started his repairs today and began with taking apart the patio.  A New View had laid down playground sand with a small mix of crusher run (small stones) as the foundation!  No wonder our patio is sinking.  It won't surprise me that the front staircase is laid upon the same shabby foundation.

One the one hand, it is fortunate that A New View is no longer in business so that they will not scam other unsuspecting consumers.  However, on the other hand, it is too late for us.  Beware of Ken Mattson (Owner) and Bonnie Cender (Designer) of Bear, DE in case they are operating under a new name.
