I have given a low mark for punctuality regarding the way FIOS handled the installation of its service. I made an appointment for installation at my new home for a particular date and time (early afternoon). I had to travel several hundred miles to meet the installer at that new home. The installer never showed up no one called me to say he would not be arriving. I called the two contact numbers I had a number of times to get some information but it was not until the evening (around 7-8 p.m.) that I got a call saying that the installer had been pulled from my assignment to work on a business installation. If someone had called me the day before to cancel, I could have saved 520 miles of driving (round trip). The installer seemed to be a good guy and he did install it the next day (this was in April 2013, not 2014), but, again, a call would have been appreciated. Regarding the TV service I get from FIOS, I often get error messages saying that I don't have access to the channels to which I subscribe and/or messages that the system has to reboot. This happens much more often than when I had service (in another town) from Cablevision. Also, when you are making channel or other selections with the remote control (e.g., making arrangements to record a future program), the system seems very slow to respond. The phone service and the Internet service seems to be OK (knock on wood). The price I pay for all 3 services may seem low because: 1) it was part of a new install 2-year contract package and 2) I don't get many TV channels (e.g., no TNT, Comedy Channel, etc.).
