Paul is a first rate roofer. I have used Star for three different projects over a period of 10 years. Work is professionally completed.

It went well. Workers arrived on time, performed work, as cited and at the price quoted. Work was done professionally, and appeared professional when done. They cleaned up their work area. Minimum of muss and fuss.

They were very responsive. They had the best price we could find for the job. The workers were good and I have no complaints. The cleanup was good.

The first estimate I received from another roofer who had done previous work on the house included a recommendation to repaint the the metal roof even though this had been done within the past two years. The estimator from Star Roofing arrived on time. I explained where leaks were occuring. He recommended sealing all openings or potential problem areas on the roof, but said the roof paint seemed to be in good condition.
The team of three men arrived on time. Completed work on the roof and then sealed and caulked the windows on the back of the house.
Just to make certain, as they were preparing to leave, I asked about the vent pipe where the major leak seemed to be coming in. He decided to go back up on the roof to make certain that was completed. We have had rain several times since the repair and have no more leaking.

He showed up right when he said he would. I will use Star Roofing again, but knowing that the rate phone calls and emails are returned could use some improvement.

The experience with Paul from Star Roofing was great. Once we hired them (Paul's was the most competive bid we had), everything was very smooth. They came on Thursday, 9/12/12 and were done by Saturday, 9/15/12. They never tried to nickel and dime us for every little thing they found on the roof--they just fixed it without mentioning it to us at all. We paid them exactly what was in the contract, despite the fact that instead of removing 1 old roof, Paul told me they actually found several old roof layers, which cost them considerably more time and energy to remove. We are extremely pleased with the transaction and would highly recommend them to anyone else.

Paul's price was very reasonable; he completed the work promptly; and the leak has not re-occurred. In addition, the new roof shingles blend well with the old ones, and the roof looks great. Paul also reaffixed several loose pieces of siding and replaced a damaged fascia board along the roofline at no extra cost.

My neighbor recommended Star Roofing to me because they had done work on another neighbor's place. Paul came by promptly and provided an estimate to my neighbor and me and gave offered a discount if we both got the work done together since we are adjoining row houses. Repairman was on time to the minute. He explained everything and was very professional. We've had rain since the job was done and everything seems to be ok.

As before, all I had to do was give him a call, and he had an estimate to me shortly. A few days later, I left the contract and check for him and the work was finished.

Approximately one year after the re-roofing, the roof leaked, damaging the ceiling in our bedroom and bedroom closet. I called them, and they repaired the leak, saying that it was faulty flashing. Now, four years after the re-roofing and three years after the first repair, the roof is leaking in the same place and has caused even more damage. I have left messages, and they have returned them, but they still haven't come back to do more repairs. And frankly, these repairs shouldn't even be necessary. They're already had two chances to get it right.

I was referred to Star Roofing from a friend in the neighborhood who hired this company to install a new roof. Paul came by and gave me an estimate. It was in the higher range of the estimates I received, but he was one of the two roofers who was going to fix the skylight the right way(re-flash and re-install instead of just slapping on roof cement). Paul said I needed a new skylight not because the existing skylight was bad, but because the existing skylight would not fit over the re-flashing. The other company said they could use the same skylight and I was not sure what was what, but I thought going with a new skylight was okay since Paul was not charging an exorbitant amount more for it. I asked Paul for references and he called me back the same day with them. We had a few follow up conversations and he came once more at my request to make sure that we agreed on the scope of the work. His first inspection of the roof did not catch everything, but the second time, he was very thorough and explained in detail how he would make the repairs. I also wanted to make sure that he used high quality materials and he confirmed that he would use the same or better materials than I requested. The contract stated a one year warranty on labor and materials. We confirmed everything on a Saturday and he came out on Monday to do the work. Everything went smoothly and at my request, he stopped to allow me to check out different phases of the work. He came out with a worker at a little after 8am and finished by 2:30pm. My only quibble is that the new skylight was tinted with a UV coating. This makes the light coming into the house a little dimmer than a clear skylight. I wish I had been asked about this before, because I would have preferred a non-coated skylight. At any rate, Paul did a fantastic job. He answered my many questions informatively and politely, and I got the impression that he really knows what he is doing. He's also just an all around nice guy. At one point I got some aluminum coating on my jacket and he got some cleaner from his truck and helped me scrub out the stain. I like that this is more or less a one man show-he does the estimates, the work etc. It made me feel comfortable that there was one person responsible for all phases of the work. I recommend him highly and though I hope that I am not in need of a roofer anytime soon, I would definitely call Paul if the need arises.
