chimney caps
 + -1 moreThe men arrived later than the scheduled appointment time, and then declined to replace my chimney cap because the roof was too steep. I don't have an unusual house or an unusual roof. Happy to defer to a professional worried about his safety, but I was surprised that a chimney company wouldn't have the right tools in their truck to climb a roof safely. I wouldn't call this company again.
Description of Work: I took the day off work to meet Prince Chimney so they could replace my chimney cap. They quoted me 'anywhere from $99 to $250'.

 + 0 moreHe was extremely helpful and straight-forward, outlining all of the repairs we needed but didn't pressure us to fix everything at once, as another company who provided an estimate did. He did what we needed at this time, to stabilize the chimney, and now we know the next steps to take when we are ready.
Description of Work: Mr. Prince's associate installed a new rain cap and fixed our chimney crown.

 + -1 moreHe was cheaper than the other bids I'd gotten, which is why I chose him. He has a good personality, too.
Description of Work: I hired Prince to do some chimney work that included venting a pipe from the basement up through the chimney and some other needed work. He also replaced the flue on top of the roof.

 + -1 moreMr. Prince makes a point to be very professional. The price was a little higher than the estimate because he ran into problems. He was apologetic and said he'd hold to his original price but he had put more work in. We met him halfway, with a price rise from $1,867 to $2,038. The only thing I wonder about is the two screws coming through the stainless steel. See photos.

Description of Work: Prince's Chimney Service came recommended by a neighbor and we certainly feel as though we have received our money's worth for the services completed. Initially, we contracted Prince's to repair the capping on (2) chimneys on our home. From the initial contact over the phone to the workman completing the job, we felt that as customers we were important. Mr. Prince (owner) recently came out to our home for another routine chimney inspection and educated us (and saved us money) on the pros and cons of fireplace doors - what to buy, what not to buy, etc. He also instructed us how to appropriately use a fire extinguisher in the event of an emergency. We would recommend Prince's Chimney Service to any Angie's List members.
