Sheldon always called before coming, and alerted us if there was going to be a rain delay, or if work one property was going to stray into another property. His dogs Joan and JR were quite the treat too. :)
Description of Work: My neighbors and I all needed wrought iron fence work. A few of us also needed some repaving of yard tiles and that sort of thing. Sheldon, his dogs JR and Joan, and his team, were prompt, thorough, professional, and made sure all clients knew what was happening when so that there were no surprises. We were all very pleased.

Sheldon was referred to me by my realstate agent to refinish my roof. I've since had other roofers over that have informed me that the roofing job was terrible and they would only consider the job a temporary fix that will probably only last about 5 or so years. It was leaking with in weeks of him finishing the job and I've had to have him come back to fix the leaks on multiple occasions. The roofing material was laid on top of the metal flashing on the wall at the front of the house and the roofing material is pealing back which has created a pocket that collects water. I've mentioned on multiple occasions that she needs to pull the flashing off and reapply it over the roofing material. Each time he accnoledges the suggestion but does nothing to correct the issue. He also installed a new front door. When we signed the contract for him to do the roof he offered a free front door instilation if I provided the new pre-hung door. He had me buy a door that his employees later realized was too big and instead of sending them to the hard ware store to exchange it for the correct size he had them shoe horn it into a space it was never designed to fit. They spent two full days installing it when it should have been a 3 hour job. I also hired this company to repair a busted water supply line that ran up the inside of my living room wall. The contract called for a new water line and to replace all the molded and rotted wall framing. Coincidentally I was at home when his employees were about to lay the new dry wall and noticed that all the old framing was still in place. After confronting workers about this they said Sheldon had not informed them about replacing the framing and were only told to replacing the water pipes and dry wall. When I confronted Sheldon he said he had every intention of replacing the framing but forgot to tell his employees. This guy is a total hack. As far as I can tell all he does is give estimates, collect the money and then sends his guys out to complete the job. He obviously doesn't do any oversight or skilled inspection of his employees work and cares little about quality workman ship. DO NOT USE THIS CONTRACTOR. STEAR CLEAR OF SHELDON ROSEN!!

TERRIBLE!
Description of Work: Did not use licensed contractors. Hack work all the way. Ridiculously poor work. Cabinets not level, Sheetrock bumpy, electrical outlets not level and at different heights along same run on kitchen backsplash. Fence doors stick shut. We used this company as one stop shopping for a house we bought for a bargain that needed a lot of work. The guy Sheldon Roseman who is one of the main contractors hardly ever came by to inspect the work, every day we got home to find more ridiculous hack jobs. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!

Wow, what a disaster. I was referred to Sheldon Roseman of Lifelong Construction by my real estate agent, who said he's used them for a long time for many properties around Capitol Hill. My big mistake was not doing my homework on this company and assuming the referral was valid. They were to do three pieces of work: remove some cabinets the previous owners installed in the master bedroom, light carpentry work for installing some home theater equipment, and repainting the interior of the house. The only thing that didn't go without a problem was the carpentry. The guys who did the cabinet removal were slow, left some small pieces behind, dinged up the walls (which were luckily going to be painted), and when they were done complained about how hard it was, and were strongly implying I should give them some gratuity. The painting is where things really went badly. We had a very interdependent schedule, with other contractors depending on the painters finishing, and a hard date that we had to move in. The painting was to be completed by our move-in date. When our move-in date came, the only room that was "done" was the guest bedroom (and it wasn't even done, since they "forgot" and only put one coat on one of the walls). They don't know how to manage their crews and prioritize. Luckily I was on vacation from work during this period and could babysit, but they still took about double the time they said it would take. (Lesson learned here: if you have a hard schedule you must adhere to, put financial penalties into your contract) When it was all said and done: - there was paint and joint compound in our wood floors - there was paint paint on our counters, bathroom fixtures, etc. - there are rooms that they only put one coat on the ceilings thinking we wouldn't notice (yes, even when changing shades of white, you can see roller marks with just one coat!) - the cheap rollers they used left lint behind in the paint film - I keep finding areas where they forgot to touch up the wall after painting the trim all in all, it was an extremely low-quality job that took way too long. I would call them back demanding they fix the mistakes, but I don't want them getting paint all over the furniture, and I frankly just don't want to deal with them again.
