Do not use this company! I had them replace my furnace and after they left, I discovered a natural gas leak and the furnace filter haphazardly placed within the box. What is interesting is when I questioned the company about why the filter was not installed correctly in the furnace, I was told they we would need to install an extra box to properly house the filter (which apparently would meet building code standards). In other words, they installed my furnace without a required box to house the filter which will very likely cause the furnace to break not to mention leave dirty air in the house. The company refused to fix the problem without an additional cost! Not to mention, they used my new Dyson vacuum without my permission to suck up water and their mess! Yes, I was dumping water out of my Dyson vacuum after they left. Do not let these people in your house!

Provider gave little notice of his coming. When he did come, I forgot to remove my car from my driveway. I said I would remove the car momentarily. I got distracted. After a whole 5 minutes, he was gone. He could have parked on street. He would not set up a second appointment. Worse yet, he would call me occasionally and when he found out it was me, he hung up!

Description of Work: I purchased the services through an Angie's List special deal. The initial communication to set up the appointment was rocky and I think there were some language barrier problems. However, when we were finally able to coordinate a time he was very polite in person and did the job quickly and efficiently. Also gave me what I felt was an honest assessment of my system with no view toward creating more work for himself.

Description of Work: The provider informed me that my AC was not functional so he could not perform the required service because 1) the unit was not functional &, 2) there was no power to the unit. I have now fixed the wire that was compromised and find that the AC unit is working. I called Genesis to inform them that they can now perform the services that I paid for and they want me to pay again. Of course, I understand that they did come out to me and it is not their fault that the unit had no power coming to it when they visited. I I should pay something for their visit but not the full amount charged. As things stand, the services that I paid for have not been performed & I feel cheated.

My fan would not turn off on my AC unit. Bought a big deal and was pleased that I received a call from the company the very next morning to schedule an appointment. The service "tech" arrived 1.5 hours late and the only tool he used was the flashlight on his cell phone (no other tools vvere brought into the home). He did not diagnose the issue, he took off the panel on the inside unit, flashed his cell phone light on the panel and then wrote a work order stating that the entire inside unit to be replaced and that he would get back to us with an estimate. We did not believe we needed a new unit, but it didn't matter because we were never provided an estimate from the company. I had to call another company from Angies list and they promptly diagnosed and repaired the problem in a timely fashion and for a reasonable cost! Thank you Angie's list for refunding my Big Deal Purchase for this service or lack thereof. I will not be using this company again.

Description of Work: I purchased the $79.00 deal and someone from the company finally contacted me two days later at 11pm asking me to call the next day. As requested I called the next day at 9am and it seem like I woke the technician/owner up because he asked if I can call him back in two hours. When I finally was able to speak with the Technician/owner I informed him that I am an Angie List customer and would like to set-up a date and time for services, he offered 29 June between 12-4pm. I was fine with the date and made arrangements at work to meet the 12 to 4pm blocks. | |The day of service: I took a half-day off and called the company at 10 am to confirm the appointment but no one answered so I left a message stating I was at my resident waiting for their technician. At 3 pm I called again to get an estimated time of arrival, once again no one answer and the phone did not prompt for me to leave a message. At 4pm I gave it one last try to see if they were still coming, but again no answer. I was now furious because I wasted my time off hours for nothing and secondly no one from GENESIS COMPANY called to let me know something. | |I will never used GENESIS COMPANY again, this company is very unprofessional and does not respond back at an appropriate time and does not care about your time. | |

Description of Work: I purchased an HVAC diagnostic visit from Angie's List. I called this company to schedule an appointment. When I asked, the owed said the deal I purchased did not include going onto my roof to inspect the compressor. He did not offer to go onto the roof for an additional charge (as other companies did). I Tried to schedule an appointment anyway. After several calls where it seemed like the burden was on me to make, confirm and reconfirm an appointment, I gave up and requested a refund on the DEAL I purchased. My interaction with this company left a bad taste in my mouth. I will not call this company again.

Description of Work: Reached out and spoke to the provider several times by email, text, phone and waited two evening in a row and he NEVER showed up. The last evening I waited for him for 2 hours and then he said it was too late to come. I told him that I was not pleased and his communication was lacking and how he had inconvenienced me because I had taken off from work to be present when he asked. He said I should not have taken off from work and if I asked him, he would have told me. He refused to find fault with the fact I had spoken with him on the phone several times and texts and he assured me that he was coming and did not show more than once. Finally he said, " You are too much trouble, I don't want to provide service to you, tell Angie's List to give you a refund."

I purchased an Angie's List big deal. It took some extra effort to get the provider scheduled. Then on the morning of the appointment I learned that it would cost substantially more (far more in additional fees that I spent on the deal) to get someone with a ladder for an A/C unit on the roof, a common placement in D.C. We agreed to cancel my deal.

After signing up online and requesting 3 possible dates/times, I never heard back from the vendor. I called to follow up and reached Ojo. He set a date with me and then didn't show, and didn't call. I called him back and he said it was due to weather. I told him that a phone call would have been expected in that situation to reschedule. He rescheduled again but then didn't show for that appointment either! And again, no phone call. I called last week to reschedule (a THIRD TIME!) and never got a call back after leave a voicemail. I'm done. And very disappointed.
Description of Work: After multiple attempts at setting up an appointment and no-shows, non-responsiveness to messages, I have to assume the provider is no longer in business or just looking to take my money. I'm cancelling my request and looking for a refund from Angie's List.

I had a difficult time setting up the initial service. I contacted them, and set up the initial appointment. They asked for 3 choices, I sent them my response. I was called and we agreed upon service on 6/23 between 8 and 12. I was called a week ago by the company and they didn't leave a message. I figured I still had my service appointment. On 6/23, the provider did not show up at the time of the appointment. I called the provider and I had to give all my information over, and they acted like they didn't have an appointment set up for me. When they did show up for the service, the representative drove in my driveway that was clearly blocked off and just recently repaved. Now my driveway has to be redone. I sent the representative away. I am so flustered with my experience with this company!

He first did not show up on the day that we set the appointment. He did not call to let us know that he was not going to make it to the appointment. I called him but did not get a response. We called the next day and he stated that he was "very busy" the day prior. A courtesy call is expected but we did not receive any. We then re-scheduled and he asked for our address and phone number AGAIN. It my assumption that he did not even write down any of my information in the first place. Already, we were skeptical. Once he finally showed, he was not able to identify the problem. He stated that it must be the thermometer and switched it out, but the problem still arose. He also asked US what the service fee was... We called another company to do the analysis and they came out the next day and identified the issue immediately and fixed it for us. It is clear that Genesis Company does not know their technical skills nor have any professionalism. Highly not recommended for service.

[Member name removed] job was refer to my company by warranty company, the first appointment date was cancel by [member name removed] wife, she requested i should come on Saturday because she will not be at home and i have to reschedule the appointment to Saturday. i call [member name removed] several time on my way to his home and he will not pick his phone either does he return my call, eventually i met his wife at home on Saturday and his wife show me a wrong unit that i told her she need to confirm from her husband where the broken unit was installed. finally they show me a unit they said he wasn't working, and i started diagnosing only to find out that the unit is working perfectly nothing wrong and nothing broken on [member name removed] Heat pump central unit system. i advice them that the unit is working correctly base on my finding, then they stated that thermostat many time will not start the unit thou the thermostat is cover by the warranty company however i do not have it in my truck so i told them i will be coming back to install a new thermostat for them. i was able to buy new thermostat and i installed it, the unit was working, i tested it before i left their home. and ever since i have never get a call back that the unit is not working, the job done was pay for by [member name removed] warrant company only deductible of $100.00 [member name removed] pay. the warrant company also did not report to me of any other company going to [member name removed] house after i completed my job. usually if the unit not working after a company work on a unit the warranty company will inform the first company about the job, i don't have no information on record for [member name removed] returned job for my company.
