My cat went into a coma and died of complications from IBD (a perfectly treatable illness) at only five years old thanks to the scattered, neglectful treatment she received at this hospital. I brought her in repeatedly over the course of a year with clear symptoms of a GI disease that the dozen or so doctors she saw--urgent care, primary care, and internal medicine--all shrugged off as "normal" right up until the end, making excuses like, “she's vomiting because she's eating too fast" (she wasn't) or "cats just have diarrhea sometimes" (every week? even with probiotics and special food?) or "she's just petite" (5 pounds soaking wet is "just petite" for a fully-grown Persian?). Not one of them would do anything more than a blood test (spoiler alert: IBD doesn't show up on a blood test!) and responded indignantly when I tried to suggest other tactics like changing her food. Even when she was literally vomiting blood days before she died, Friendship refused to do any kind of imaging or "specialized" procedures "after hours" and casually recommended I call the following week for an internal medicine consultation. This is supposed to be an emergency facility! The independent vet who finally diagnosed her as she was in the process of dying before our eyes agreed that there was serious neglect at play here--unfortunately there isn't much legal recourse for malpractice cases in veterinary medicine due to the fact that animals are seen as property in the eyes of the law. And management at Friendship refuses to speak to me about their doctors' neglect. So all I can do is warn other pet owners. Don’t be fooled by the promise of “dozens of highly-trained specialists,” high-tech equipment, and all that other flashy stuff. It’s all for show.

They are an excellent veterinary practice that is there for you 24/7. They are expensive, but no more than various other vets in DC. And I fell my pets' health is worth the cost.

Excellent results. Reese is back to running, playing and enjoying life. The lestaff at Friendship Hospital is beyond extraordinary. They are intelligent, professional, and caring. In fact on days when Reese was having PT, as we approached Friendship Hospital, he would get so excited. Great people!!!

The operation was successful and I now have the pet home, however, it is too early to call this a complete success as we are still in recovery.

Very sweet and caring team. Excellent diagnosis and treatment. And very helpful pre-treatment cost estimates for very expensive care.

I've been going to them for years, they are the only place i'm aware of in the metropolitan area that is open 24/7. I would take the previous and this dog that I just lost for regular check ups and anything that happen. The last visit they did some test and discovered that he was going to have to have a lot of surgery. He had liver cancer so we had to put him down. They couldn't of been sweeter about everything, I've always found them to be very loving and good, I trusted them.

They are very responsive. They are very professional. The waiting was ten to fifteen minutes. The actual process of evaluating them and getting their testing and getting their medication was about an hour, two hours.

Over the course of a week, he went 4 or 5 times. It was unbelievably expensive. He had an endoscopy, a sonogram, a biopsy that was sent out. He had medications. It was a huge deal. They thought he had terminal cancer and they got the biopsy back and it was just very bad ulcers in his tummy. We were happy. The price is really high. We did a lot of things, but it's still just really high. The doctors were very responsive and very knowledgeable. It was the reception staff that were clueless. I was crying my eyes out, my dog was whimpering. They were playing with a puppy. I was like, "Check us in!" All 3 of my pets go there. They are one of the few emergency rooms for animals in the Washington D.C. area. I'll definitely go back. That night, when he was so sick, we probably waited 20 minutes just to get registered. One time, we waited 45 minutes for a pre-existing appointment. Their wait times are not great. The vets are great. They get down on the floor, down on their level. They look in their eyes. They talk to you and explain what's going on so you're not thinking your dog's going to kill over dead. The doctors are really great. I can put up with unresponsive staff as long as they do get me in and I don't have anything horrible happen while waiting. The doctors are worth it. They have a full line of services. They do MRI, endoscopy, they have sonogram machines. They have everything. They have an oncology department. It's like a human hospital. They are amazing.

I use them regularly. They're pricey, but they also have everything onsite, the emergency clinic, the oncology department, everything is there. They are reliable and are in a convenient location, but they're a very busy clinic. The front desk is generally okay, sometimes not so good.

Friendship offers a puppy wellness package and this was our second visit as part of that package. We have found a doctor there that we really like and once you do that Friendship is a feat vet. Care is top notch. It's a little pricey but I've found that other, smaller practices can be just as expensive. And with Friendship you always know your pet is in the best of hands.
