 + -1 moreBERYL IS A WOMAN OF GREAT TASTE AND RESTRAINT, BOTH OF WHICH CAME INTO PLAY IN MY LIFE, SINCE I HAVE LITTLE OF EITHER. SHE DID A LOVELY JOB OF TRANSLATING ME AND MY EPHEMORAL COMMENTS INTO REALITY. SHE'S QUICK, KNOWS EVERYONE IN THE DESIGN BUSINESS, GOT ME GREAT DEALS ON QUALITY FURNITURE, AND WAS A TRUE BIRD DOG WITH THE CONTRACTOR (THANK GOODNESS). IF I BUY YET ANOTHER HOME ANYWHERE IN THE COUNTRY I WOULD HAVE NO HESITATION ABOUT HANDING HER THE KEYS AND LEAVING, KNOWING I WOULD RETURN TO BEAUTY AND COMFORT AT A WONDERFULLY EQUITABLE COST.
Description of Work: I DON'T LIVE IN DC FULL TIME. I LIVE IN LOS ANGELES. I WANTED AN APT. THAT HAD THE SAME LIGHT AND AIR I HAVE IN CA. BERYL ADVISED ME TO CHANGE A CRAMPED TWO BEDROOM INTO A ONE BEDROOM AND USE THE FOUND SPACE TO MAKE A LOVELY ONE BEDROOM WITH AN OFFICE, A LARGE WALK-IN CLOSET, BEAUTIFULLY DESIGNED, AND TWO WONDERFULLY BIG BATHROOMS. SHE HANDLED THE COLORS, THE FURNITURE, AND THE ACCESSORIES, AND SHE'S STILL DOING IT. SHE SUPERVISED THE CONTRACTOR, AND WORKED WITH A COLLEAGUE ARCHITECT THAT SHE TRUSTED TO CREATE THE APT. FROM THE GROUND UP.

 + -1 moreAll the work done by Feather Your Nest was completed within the agreed-upon budget and time frame. Beryl Hall, the owner, specializes in creating flexible design plans that can be implemented a little at a time or all at once, depending on the desire of the client. She took my preferences and concerns into strong consideration throughout the duration of the project. The end result was a tastefully decorated room that suits my lifestyle and budget. I am particularly pleased with Beryl's use of color.
Description of Work: Provided expert advice selecting furniture, upholstery, area rug,paint, and accessories for my living room. Arranged for seamstress to make custom drapery from fabric selected by Feather Your Nest. Also identified and oversaw work of contractors--painter, carpenter, and drapery hanger. Designed a custom mosaic fireplace surround, selected tile, and oversaw installation.
