District Garden

I tried several times to contact District Garden and never heard from them, even though I purchased an offer for rainwater management. I don't like leaving negative reviews, but I did not get any service for money I paid.

While the consultation did not fit our needs, we definitely appreciated the time spent in the process. There was a great deal of care and value put in in the consultation.
If we come across the need for this sort of LID expertise, we know where to go!

Having used them before, when we needed someone to do some "greening" at our vacation home.

We set up a plan for three cedar raised beds for some veggies and rain barrels at the front and rear of the home. They also came up with a unique french drain solution at the base of the home which emptied into a lower lying rain garden type area.

They were well-priced, professional and friendly. Hopefully we'll use them again.

We also had them treat and stain the beds with tung oil. Looks great.

Ben was super responsive via email and provided detailed information.  On installation day, he was prompt, professional and provided all the information I needed to maintain the system and then some.  He did an excellent job putting everything together and in place in less than one hour.  I'm glad I went with the two barrel system because although I didn't think that downspout (1 of 5) handled that much water, it rained less than a half inch two days later and the barrels were probably 1/5 of the way full.  It proved to me that his estimates were spot on when it comes to how much rain is coming off a roof.  I'm glad I went with District Garden and will return to them if I decide to install raised beds in the future.  I would recommend them without hesitation to anyone looking to solve storm water management issues.

After setting up a late-morning appointment on April 3rd, it seemed to have slipped Ben's mind. He stopped by at the end of the day and was quite apologetic.

Great! He was really there to help us what we would need in order to put rain barrels up. They were friendly and knowledgeable. In general, they were good people.

I appreciated the advice....he gave me lots of it. Good, useful advice, too. The price was absolutely  a deal.  But he promised me a written report and never delivered.

These guys are excellent. A bit of a hassle to get a hold of on the phone, but super responsive via text and email.

Regardless, we did work with them for a custom cedar L Shaped raised garden bed (they also helped with soil deliery) and and LID consult. This is where they come and tell us what greenish solutions might work on our property. Useful information really and not expensive.

Also had two of the basic rain barrels put in on the property which while industrial looking are not ugly and very functional!

The communication and craftsmanship was excellent. We missed one appointment, but no big deal.
Work was completed on schedule, and a last minute change on our end was accommodated gracefully by their guys.
They were even good with our dogs.
Overall, if we have another need, we will use them again for rain barrels or a rain garden maybe! :)

Ben was very responsive from the very beginning.  He provided a wealth of information on raised garden beds and some money-saving tips as well.  We paid the 50% deposit by Paypal which was very convenient.  He arrived on the appointed day, assembled the beds and set them up in the location we selected.  They look great and we are looking forward to planting some vegetables!  It is clear that Ben really enjoys what he does - he is very knowledgeable and personable, and we would recommend District Garden to anyone.

Was very insightful, kind, engaging.

Everything went well.

We initially found them through a local farmer market and then reconnected again on Twitter (@DistrictGarden).
We scheduled for a two day install. Day one was materials dropoff. They pre-cut the bed lumber off site. Then next day the owner and an assistant arrived and dug out a portion of the hill to level it for the bed. The beds were installed flush and look great. We'll end up staining the outside of the beds. We asked for and received installation of wire mesh and landscape fabric below the beds to block weeds and critters.
The rain barrel installation was smooth with two two barrel linked systems installed at each downspout. We plan to use an electric pump with them.
Overall they did an excellent job. They're much faster replying to email than the phone. I think that is more a sign of them being a busy small business than anything else.

Ben was very good about communicating with me and was flexible on scheduling needs. He provided a very good description of how to use the rain barrel and answered all of my questions.

Everything went very well. Ben accommodated multiple date changes that I had to request due to delays in getting a patio installed. He was very flexible and once the date was settled he showed up right on time. Work was done quickly and he did a good job walking us through the care and maintenance for the rain barrels. Would recommend him for anyone looking for similar work.

Very excellent, responsive, prompt, knowledgeable and pleasant District Garden representative (Ben) did a great job installing our pre-purchased rain barrel at a very reasonable cost. You'll be amazed at the quality of the service! (He also can install rain barrels and equipment he provides.) He explained how rain barrels can pay for themselves in about 2 seasons. We're very satisfied and recommend District Garden highly! Now we are trying to come up with other projects so we can have them back again.

Excellent! Ben was very responsive, willing and able to respond to all of my questions regarding the product and installation. He stands behind his product and installation. I was very impressed by the product, speed of installation, and communication. During the install Ben gave me tips for preventing mosquitoes and told me about other products to improve the flow of water out of the barrels. I would recommend using District Garden to anyone.

The guys showed up on time! They were in and out in an hour. The barrel look really cool in the garden, and I've even done some retro spray painting on it. Their barrels are pretty sturdy and survived all the storms and snow from last year, and the top has enough space to hold a few planters. The owner was super friendly, and even gave away a FREE tomato plant. The guys even followed up last month to ask and make sure that the spout and everything was functional and ready for the rainy season. I'm now thinking of getting a raised garden bed from them (cheapest deal in town), and start my own vegetable garden. I've recommended all my neighbors and friends to district garden and highly recommend that you give them a call and get the best quote for your pergola and landscaping options.
