We were having tv problems. He identified problem - not the tv so that was good news. He also looked at a sound issue with home entertainment system and fixed it as well. If we ever have problems in future, he is the person we would call.
Description of Work: He came to look at tv and home entertainment system.

I didn't use the service provider because he wanted me to actually take the TV down myself for him to come look at it.
Description of Work: Talked to provider but he wasn't able to fix my TV because it is attached to the wall.

If I remember correctly Mr. Davis was on time. He gave me a list of things to buy and left. He then returned and fixed the TV.
Description of Work: Mr. Davis arrived at a time he and I both worked out. He stayed late and was very friendly. I would use him again. I had bought a red plastic TV from a thrift store that wasn't working. Mr. DAvis fixed it. He gave me a list of things to buy at Radio Shack. After I bought these things, he repaired the TV.

Description of Work: Our Toshiba Televison/DVD player began to develop a problem where the transmission was subject to interruptions that would cause the screen to go blank, or to re-set, for a matter of a few seconds, and these interruptions were occurring every ten seconds or so, rendering the set unusable. We found Davis Electronics on Angie's List; it had only one comment -- a positive one -- and unlike some of the other service providers that had more numerous positive recommendations on Angie's List, Davis Electronics is located in the District and serves a D.C.-based clientele (we live in Northwest D.C.). We tried one of the more highly-rated TV repair shops identified on Angie's List, but it was located in Northern Virginia and doesn't serve clients in the District. While I had a little difficulty reaching Mr. Davis at first -- he and I kept exchanging voice mail messages for a couple of days -- when I finally reached him, he agreed to come out to the house and take a look at our set. When he did so, he determined that he would need to take the set in to his shop to work on it. The charge for coming out to the house, picking up our TV, and taking it to his shop was $45, paid at the time that he took our TV with him. Three days later he called me to tell me that he had analyzed and fixed the problem (it was a problem with some circuitry in one of the boards), and that the total additional repair cost, parts and labor, would be about $196. He delivered the TV back to us two days later (which, incidentally, happened to be on Christmas Eve), and it works fine now. Mr. Davis is a pleasure to work with (he has a slight West African accent, as he is a native of Liberia, buy he is easy to understand), self-evidently competent and honest. I would not hesitate to call on him again or to recommend him to my friends.

Mr. Davis showed up when he said, performed the repair for the estimated cost, and delivered it back when he said. The TV still works perfectly.
Description of Work: My Toshiba DVD-TV combo stopped turning on. Mr. Davis came to my house to pick up the TV. He preliminarily diagnosed the problem and called within the day to confirm it. He performed the repair for the estimated cost and had it back within the week.
