It was great. Mr. Cordt came up with a clever and thoughtful plan to make the best use of our city yard. His creative plant selection was brilliant, expertly layering the space with unique plants that thrive in all seasons. When one plant stops blooming, another is popping. There's always something beautiful happening. Mr. Cordt could not be more pleasant and his staff were so quick, quiet and thorough in their cleanup that I barely knew they had ever been here. Highly recommended.

I received a prompt response from Cordt after contacting them via email for a bid. Kevin Cordt met me and another Board member at the site to make an appraisal. He was prompt, he listened, had great suggestions, and above of all, was extremely nice. The association accepted Cordt's bid, and work began within a couple of weeks. The first day, a custom brick retaining wall was completed. The brick work was beautifully done, and any debris had been cleared away. The second day, the soil and mulch were added, and bulbs and annuals had been planted. Cordt stopped by the next day to finish up.
I received positive comments from condominium residents before the work had even been competed. Kevin transformed a small, sad patch of dirt into something that is beautiful, and enhances the historic building behind it. He was professional, prompt, creative, and positive. He was also excellent with communication. The management company for the condominium has already recommended Cordt Gardens to other residents in the neighborhood.
I can confidently give Cordt Gardens the highest recommendation.

I knew Kevin Cordt personally even before I hired him to do the work. The work that was done initially was satisfactory. However, the followup was not good. I felt the price was high. The recommendations of the plantings and the bushes that were planted were not suitable for my yard. I have, since then, taken most of them out. At that time, I spent $3000 on the job. So, I expected better results in the long run than what I received. I had them out again for yard maintenance. I was very disappointed with that and the cost. I did not have any further contact with them beyond that. Kevin was a nice fellow, but I was not happy with the work. I was not happy with the end result. His intention was good, but it did not work for me. I will not use this company again in the future.

Great work, though pricey. I would strongly recommend them, as long as the price doesn't deter you. My neighbors rave about our garden, and with good reason.

I used Cordt because of neighbor referrals. His work is very highly regarded in my neighborhood. He was very pleasant to work with and his people did a very nice job. The price, (which I thought was very high for a small patio), was established before we learned that the removal of the concrete patio was more extensive than originally thought and would require a jackhammer to remove. However, to his credit, Cordt did not attempt to increase the originally agreed upon price. The only other concern was that the workman didn't tell me that he changed the pattern to parquet until after he had started the work. It turned out well and he did a good job so I can't complain. The work has held up nicely as well.

We would recommend them without reservation. They took out all the weeds and stuff that were in the backyard. They did the project pretty fast and installed everything within 3 days. We’ve been very happy with their work and would use them again in the future if necessary.

They did a great job. I love the way it looks, and the regular visits and clean-up are a tremendous help. Worth every penny.

We chose Kevin to do the landscaping portion of our small Capitol Hill garden backyard makeover. He came out a couple of times and surveyed the area and made suggestions about plantings. Kevin and his assistant David moved all the plants we were keeping into pots prior to any work being done by the fence and patio contractors. After the fence and patio were put in, Kevin came back and we made some final decisions about how many plants were needed. Kevin had great ideas about what plants would be suitable. I am very interested in gardening, and he and I bounced ideas and colors off each other. Kevin is very creative and, as I am too, we got along really well. He and David came out one morning and put the plants in. He and David also put together our new patio furniture. The plantings are wonderful. Kevin knows a lot about height and color, and he listened and remembered what I liked and didn't care for. Everyone who sees our yard is very impressed, and we are totally enjoying our peaceful little haven.

I called this company, and left a message with the woman who answered the phone that I would like an estimate. She said she would have the appropriate person call me back, however, I have never heard back from them.

I was very pleased. The team was efficient and made every effort to get the job done behind the scenes. The design was imaginative and Kevin was great about discussing my ideas and making them work. I wanted the bulk of the job done quickly to prepare for a large party, and Kevin made sure it happened.

I was very pleased with Cordt's work. They were responsive, timely, knowledgeable, friendly and professional.

Fantastic experience with this company. Friendly, communicative, helpful, and did a great job. 99.9% of the garden has thrived for 3 years, which is a great percentage. (I heard from a botanist it's usually 85%.) I have been truly delighted with my beautiful garden for 3 seasons and look forward to many more...
