Two heating service people came to my home in February 2012 to perform a routine annual furnace cleaning. They reported no issues with my furnace but within 10 minutes after they left my home, I had a flooded basement. I had been a customer of this company for the 8 years that I lived in CT and never had any problems with them. In all previous service calls they always sent only 1 person to address any issue. In this specific instance they sent 2 people, who were both unknown to me. I knew their other service technicians from my previous experience with the company.
Curiously, the 2 service people that came to my home and left my basement flooded, were no longer working for this company with 2 months after the incident.
I incurred significant loss of property from the flooded basement and the cost of buying and having to professionally install a new hot water heater that burst as a result of the actions of the 2 service people.
The company never would admit that it was their technicians that created my financial losses and further billed me for the labor that they expended to fix the problem that they created.
