Went to the website and priced out new tires and wheels for my daughter's car. The prices were very reasonable (very!) so I started placing the order. When I got to the checkout I found out it was going to be about $130 for shipping. I mean, it is 4 tires and wheels, so that wasn't unreasonable, but it went beyond my budget. That's when I noticed that the items were shipping from Windsor, CT which is only about 20 minutes away from where I live. I called the 888 number and asked if I could pick them up instead of shipping. They told me sure and that people do that all the time. One point though...You cannot select "Pick up" as an option from the website. You have to call them to process the order. That said, I placed the order and asked how long it would take to be able to pick them up. He said he would call me back in a few minutes with an eta. That's of course when I thought, "I will never hear back from them". Surprisingly, he called me back in about 2 minutes and said they would be ready for pick up at 1pm. I thought that was some sort of joke since it was 1220 at the time. I left for the warehouse and sure enough, they were waiting on the loading dock for me when I got there.
If you live in western MA or CT, there is probably no better bang for your buck than Tirerack.com when it comes to tires and wheels!
