Here are all the ways his job was shoddy and unprofessional. Again, it does pain me to write this review. Neil is fundamentally a nice person. 1. Neil was almost guaranteed to overestimate his ability to complete any part of the job on time. He gave us a relatively optimistic picture of when he will be done, but, probably he had taken on more jobs than he could handle, the whole project was delayed. 2. We had talked to other clients so we were prepared for this to an extent. But it still dragged on longer than we anticipated. 3. While the overall look of the finished kitchen is okay, there are many things that are not, or have come undone over time. Neil said that he would stand by his work, but has essentially refused to come back and fix anything. 4. Two boards covering the toe-kicks under the cabinets have caved in. One has to be ripped out and replaced. The other can be nailed back in. After asking Neil to come back and fix it, he rudely told us to take care of it ourselves at home-depot! 5. One of the sliding drawers essentially came apart earlier this year. I had to take it all down, screw the side support back into the side of the cabinet, and then put the drawer back together. I did not even bother calling Neil since I did not want to be insulted again. 6. The washing machine has not been fixed properly. It is loose and we fear that it may be vibrating because of that. Again, no help from Neil. 7. The garbage disposer started leaking last year. Luckily, I used some plumber's putty and fixed that. It had not been installed tightly enough so the putty had worked itself loose because of the operation of the disposal unit. 8. A cabinet around the refrigerator is coming apart. Again, no help from Neil. I will have to fix it myself! We got lucky on at least one score. We had asked him to replace the marble floor in our foyer with hardwood. He got us pre-finished boards that were a different width and color than the rest of the house. Thank god we got someone else to give us a second opinion. While it took much more money, we actually got a floor that is almost identical to those in the rest of the rooms around the foyer so it blends in very well. Escaped that one! In conclusion, be careful of Accent on Homes. They are cheap but it shows.
Description of Work: Accent on Homes (Neil Betts really) did a complete kitchen re-model from the ceiling fixtures down to the tiles with marble counter tops and all. This included brand new cabinets. It pains me to write this negative review, because Neil is genuinely a nice person. All the more reason I am surprised he is treating us in such a callous, unprofessional manner.
