Affordable Closets

From the moment Steve's designer Joan met us (on a Sunday no less!), it was a professional class A act. In a short period of time she came up with a plan to help us maximize the usage of our closet spaces, drew up the plan, and emailed us a pdf of the design. True to their name, they were so much less costly than their local competitors. I had concern about the quality of the material they would use, but Steve assured me he had been buying from the same company in PA for 25+ years with no issues. The crew of 3 young men showed up on install day right on time as promised. They were polite, professional, honest and cleaned up every spec of saw dust when the install was complete. The closets were the last item in a 18 month gut job renovation of our home. I had previously installed California Closets years ago. I honestly see no difference in the quality of what we had with CA Closets and what was just installed. Lastly, I almost never write reviews or recommend, but if our experience is typical you won't regret hiring Affordable Closets!

Steven came over and measured my windows, he left me with three books of shades to look at and decide which would look best in my dining room.   He returned a week later, we discussed color and what type of shades would look best in the space.  
Shades were chosen, price was discussed and the order was placed. 
It took about two weeks for the shade to come in, Steven called and set up a time that was best for me.  The shades were installed and he demonstrated how they work.  The room was left exactly how he found it, expect for the beautiful new shades.  The shades are so perfect for this room, they go up and down for the top and the bottom, I put them up every morning and down every night.  They work smoothly and are installed perfectly.  Affordable Closets is a definite go to for my family for closets and window treatments.  I highly recommend this business.

I was satisfied with most aspects of his service - He was quick to return my call, showed up promptly, gave a quote that I thought was reasonable.   He did a very good job with the closet design.   The installation was overall good.  He promised belt racks as promotional items as part of the deal that he didn't have in his truck but would stop by to drop off.  I was happy with the job and trusted him to follow through with dropping off the promised items so I did pay him in full.
 Within the first week of use, a couple of  the longer hanging racks where they were sagging under the weight of the hanging items and needed a couple additional supports.
I called him about these 2 items, left a message and did not get a return call.   After the third message left within a week, I decided to leave an additional message from a different number as if I were a new customer requesting a quote for a big job.  I received 3 callback messages from him, the first being 30 minutes later, until I finally answered in person and proceeded to tell him what I thought of his integrity and business practices.
 I ended up buying and installing the additional supports myself.  Not expensive or a big deal, but I give him failing grades for standing behind his work and being trustworthy.
So I'm not giving a favorable recommendation.   If you use him, be sure you are very happy with every aspect of the job before you write the check.    Be sure to withhold part of the payment if there is any outstanding work or promised followup.  
The date of the job was 3 years ago but now being a member and running across this business on Angie's list, I felt that I should submit my experience with him.

Very punctual, professional and pleasant.  Gave and estimate, we said ok, and he showed up at the appointed time and installed a beautiful closet.

My wife and I were very pleased with the work done by Affordable Closets. The quality of the shelving units were of much higher quality than what you would typically see in Lowes, Home Depot, etc. They designed both closets with much more efficiency where now both myself and my wife can put more things in our closets without worry. The closet systems were installed in less than 3 hours and they look great. I had looked into several other places for design & installation of closet organiztion systems. Most of these places wanted several thousand dollars to do similar work.

This was a great experience each time.
