What I love about working with Playtime Pools is that they are always willing to spend the time explaining and teaching how to utilize each component of the pool. I never feel pressured to buy anything. We inherited our pool from the previous home owners and the equipment is aging and failing. Meg has always taken the time to talk through alternatives and less expensive ways to extend the life of our equipment before having the big expense of replacing it. It would be much easier and profitable for them to say, 'We can't fix that, it needs to be replaced'. But, instead I have found them to always have my best interest and wallet in mind. This is the kind of small family-run business I will stay with for many years to come.

We’d never had Playtime Pool Service open our pool before and should have left it that way. What a clusterbomb of a disaster. The technician Playtime Pool Service sent, Israel, was poorly trained and overworked. When he started, he never asked where he should aim the waste water hose from cleaning, and he complained that he had 8 more stops after us (we were the second or third one). So the pool waste water ran down a hill and ruined our organic vegetable garden. The plants were killed. Israel wasted so much water during cleaning we had to get new pool water delivered. We had 1200 gallons of water put back in. The company that delivered the water said they’d never seen anything like this from a pool cleaning. Israel did not know how to install a pool ladder. He said, “But I don’t know how to do that!” At one point he said the ladder didn’t have to be anchored to the deck, that water in the pool would hold it in place. Wrong! After we pointed out to him where to bolt the ladder to the deck, it wobbled dangerously. We called Playtime Pool Service and said it was unsafe and should be re-anchored. Their response was, “Call another pool company.” A few days later water started leaking from our pump that’s only three years old. When Israel took away the pump for repair, he never plugged the lines. We also discovered the handles on the valves had been broken. So right after paying $346 for pool water we lost two more inches within 6 hours because of Israel’s oversight. When our emergency calls to Playtime weren’t returned, we had to find someone else to plug the lines that day because we were going to lose even more water while we waited for Playtime to call us back. Another $120. After that, the valve on the salt cell they said they had fixed at the opening started leaking again. So we had to pay for that too. In all, we were out-of-pocket $546 on top of the cost of Playtime’s opening fee. Later we found dead plants where Israel had parked his truck. Our landscaper said it was a salt spill. We also discovered later we were sold excessive bags of salt we didn't need. This whole nightmare was caused by Playtime Pool Service. The owner, Meg Kenedy, who we spoke to and emailed many times, refused to take responsibility for any of this. She tried to blame us. She even said Israel was her best employee. If he’s her best, who’s her worst? We filed a complaint with the CT Dept of Consumer Affairs. In her response, Meg denied everything. Though she said she would reimburse us for the cost of plugging the lines, she later refused to pay us, saying she didn’t approve of the repairman’s license, which was B.S. He did a fine job. I would highly recommend Playtime Pool Service. They are professional, friendly, and extremely responsive. Meg promptly replies to emails and schedules services in a timely manner. Overall a great company to work with and we will continue to do so for as long as we have a pool!

Meg at Playtime Pools managed to get a replacement and have it installed before the party. She also opens/closes and maintains the pool when i need it. I prefer to do much of the chemical and cleaning work myself but Meg is very flexible when i need an extra hand. It's a small business with great customer service.

Playtime Pool has maintained our pool for over a decade and has been consistently professional, attentive, and knowledgeable. Meg takes the time to know their clients and individual service needs bringing a refreshing personal touch to business. Working with her and Playtime's crew is always a pleasure and we knew right away we were in good hands when alerted that there were repairs needed in clear detail accompanied by an accurate estimate of the cost. That level of service and attention has continued throughout our relationship proving Playtime Pool is a gem!

Purchased a home in September, so it was late in the season for pool service / closing contracts. I normally don't write reviews, but needed to comment on the excellent experience. Meg is so responsive, professional, and knows what she is talking about. She took details about the pool over the phone and was great about explaining the services and breakdown of costs. Arranged service over the phone and there were no surprises - even explained what to anticipate next year for the full season, including small parts that the equipment needed. Service was excellent, price is competitive and fair, and I would definitely recommend to anyone asking.

Very easy to work with. I made the arrangements over email and they come every week to clean the pool. Works better now than it did before and my family gets to spend time playing in the pool instead of me spending time working on the pool!

The workers were responsive and friendly and although it took time to order the equipment they solved a problem that I had tried to address for several years.  Most companies want your total business or they are only interested in major renovation, however, because they addressed my situation as one of importance, I will use them in the future for major things and recommend them to others.

It was perfect!  The prices are reasonable, and the quality is the best!  Meg, answers all questions, and eases the transition of being a new pool owner

Wonderful! Meg is so kind and so helpful. I have not been so impressed by customer service in a long, long, time.

Excellent service, completed the job on time and did a perfect installation.

Very reasonable pricing and prompt professional service.  They come weekly to take care of everything related to the pool and they also closed and winterized it.

They were very good. Overall they were fine. They did it over two days instead of one but overall everything was fine.  They were not able to schedule because they were busy.
