About us
Professional Lock and Safe Co. Inc. was started by Michael Beattie in 1972. Beattie received security training in the U.S. Navy from 1967-1971. After naval training he graduated from the Connecticut Police Academy and was hired as the Town of Mansfield's first police officer. While working nights as a police officer, Beattie started a small locksmith business during the day. The business soon required full time attention and Beattie decided to open his first store front in 1975. Beattie soon became one of Connecticut's first locksmiths to be certified as a master locksmith by the Associated Locksmiths of America. Since 1972 Professional Lock and Safe has been one of the leading locksmith companies in Connecticut. As a family run business, Michael Beattie is able to service both commercial and residential customers with expert installations and service work for any types of safes and vaults and all types of locking hardware, both commercial and residential. Mr. Beattie's knowledge of the industry is vast. His skills have been taught to many including his son, who is a police officer and still helps out in the family business from time to time. The central location of the business is in a beautifully renovated 2,000 sq ft. showroom at 1575 Main St. Willimantic. Centrally located in Eastern Connecticut, the business is able to dispatch service trucks to most parts of the state in short notice! A vast array of decorating hardware is on display, as well as over 100 safes (rifle, fire, burglary, deposit safes, strong boxes etc.) Professional Lock and Safe has many varieties of high security locks and restricted key systems, including Medeco ‘Biaxial’ and Keymark.
