Miele makes a great vacuum cleaner but parts and repair are ridiculously expensive. After checking on the net, I was sure that the repair of both my and my parents vacuums were going to cost close to the total replacement cost. From phone calls and net searches, other repair professionals were indicating the rewind spool would probably have to be replaced - the part alone is $170. I gave up and went to my local Miele repair shop (Stanton Miles) thinking this was going to be over $400 in repairs. It didn't take long to realize that both David and Mike were great guys who couldn't be dishonest if they tried. I brought the first vacuum in and got a total price of $45 - which made the decision to bring in the second vacuum very easy. I was hoping to get a similar bill from the second vacuum but was even more pleasantly surprised to get a $29 bill. With both vacuums, they took me right away and had the vacuums repaired and returned in a couple hours. Great professional treatment in every way. They also do window treatments, so, I know where my wife will be going next for window treatment services.

As usual, Stanton Miles was superb. We set a time for them to come over and measure the windows. They brought many samples and we discussed the comparative benefits of each. I selected the appropriate colors. They returned about two weeks later (there was a major holiday in between or they would have returned one week later) and installed the shades. They are skilled and careful at what they do. And they are nice folks, too. They removed the old shades, installed the new shades and finished the job in less than one hour.
It is possible that I might have been able to save a small amount of money elsewhere but it is NOT possible that service could have been better than I received from Stanton Miles. This project was accomplished so easily it was a joy. I might add that the solar shades have been doing their job. They made a noticeable difference in reducing our a/c cost last summer. If you need solar shades (among other things) do call Stanton Miles.
