 + -1 moreWe hired Rountree Architects to design a home for us. It was to be a net zero highly energy efficient home. We asked if he could do that. He said he could. We also gave him a very clear budget. He designed us a very lovely home that was in no way within our price range. We reiterated our price range. We paid him AGAIN to design it. The second design further did not fit our price range. We paid him in full and ended our relationship with him. We now have a builder who is working with us on meeting our price range. Mr. Rountree is calling and asking for details about our project and telling us that the plans we paid for twice are his property and that we cannot use them to get building permits unless we hire him for an additional $40,000 to oversee the builder.
