We first used Rick Burke to put a library addition on the back of our house. My husband designed the addition, and Burke Construction built it exactly as my husband imagined it. Rick's crew is tremendous! Later, Rick rebuilt our sea wall and dock after hurricane Sandy hit us. Most recently, he built us a new beach-style driveway.
I had Burke Construction build a new 4,000 sf retail building for me. Rick Burke personally supervised the entire process. His company did a wonderful job. Rick saved me $18,000 by value engineering a retaining wall on the site. We both started the job with a smile, and we finished the job with a smile. I've had his company back to do two additional projects.
"This was the architect's first commercial design job. The project was only 50% designed upon commencement. The architect and owner signed and issued 21 work change orders. The scope of the project changed each week. My on-site crew consisted of six carpenters during the demolition and framing phases. Two carpenters remained on-site during the trim and finish work phases. The owners hired their own electrical, plumbing and flooring tradespeople, in an effort to save money. Each of their tradespeople received stop work orders from the local building department for work done without permits and work not to code. Even though this job was a challenge to my patience, we managed to get through it all the way to the end. The owner's business was never shut down for even a single day during a major renovation."
