ALISON WACHSTEIN PHOTOGRAPHY

From the first kiss to the first steps, from childhood through graduations…Master Photographer, Alison Wachstein has been creating a collection of memories for generations to cherish. Capturing favorite expressions and relationships in exquisitely crafted portraits of families and children, her keen eye and deft control of flattering lighting and natural posing allow her to capture everyone at their best. After receiving her BA in Psychology from Northwestern University, Alison was an honored photojournalist and lifestyle photographer in Aspen, Colorado and New Jersey. She has taught photography at Seton Hall, Fairleigh Dickinson and Fairfield Universities as well as locally. She is a sought after speaker and judge at both professional and amateur photography organizations. Her photographs are in many private collections as well as the permanent collection at the International Center of Photography in NYC. Her book, Pregnant Moments, published by Morgan & Morgan has been highly regarded in both the childbirth and photography communities. Meeting with clients in a design conference before scheduling the photography session, Alison listens to their dreams and needs. She helps in selecting appropriate clothing, makeup, locations and other elements to reflect their desires, often coordinating with the room where the portraits will be displayed. Whether she’s photographing in her studio, gardens and woodland, the beach or their homes; the families remember their exciting adventure with Alison. It’s not unusual for her to provide tissues as everyone enjoys their images in a video presentation with music when they select their favorites. They often depart not only with their cherished portraits, but sometimes with seeds or perennials from Alison’s garden for their own, for she is also a Certified Master Gardener. Alison is a member of Professional Photographers of America (PPA), Connecticut (CtPPA), New England (PPANE), Now I Lay Me Down to Sleep (NILMDTS), and CT Society of Portrait Artists (CSOPA). She is a Certified Professional Photographer (CPP)..
